Chapter 69
The young man, Brett, quickly averted his gaze, clearly terrified of Sienna. She shot one last venomous glare at Rebekah, who, even without makeup, was undeniably beautiful with her gentle, refined features.
“Rebekah, just you wait!” Sienna spat, dragging her boyfriend away.
The confrontation left Rebekah feeling awkward and exposed in front of Jensen. Even thought he already knew about her messy marriage, the public display of her private drama was mortifying. To her relief, Jensen didn’t ask any questions.
“Let’s eat,” she said, trying to sound casual.
Jensen’s gaze remained on her face, his brow slightly furrowed. “Rebekah,” he began nonchalantly, “have you found your birth family?”
Rebekah paused for a moment. The fact that she was a fake heiress was common knowledge in The Capital by now. She managed a small smile and nodded. “I have.”
Her voice was cool and clear, her porcelain skin and delicate features the hallmark of a classic southern belle.
Jensen looked away, his silver hair falling across his brow, making him look even more striking. “Where are they from?” he asked casually.
“Southborough,” Rebekah replied with a smile. “The family name is Powell. Isn’t your hometown in Southborough, too?”
Powell.
While there were many Powells in Southborough, when one mentioned “the Powells of Southborough,” it referred to only one family-a family of immense power and influence. Could
she be one of them?
“Congratulations,” Jensen said, masking a flicker of coldness in his eyes with his usual smile. “There are many Powell families in Southborough…”
Rebekah smiled back. “I won’t hide it from you. I’ve been in contact with them, and I’ll be leaving in two months to join them. They’re just an ordinary family.”
Not the Powell family?
Jensen lowered his gaze. He had looked into her biological parents before. If they were an ordinary family, he would have found them long ago.
After dinner, they strolled through the streets for a while before heading home. Jensen insisted on getting a ride-share to take her back, ignoring her protests. Rebekah, unable to argue, finally
relented.
The driver was dressed in a suit, and the car was a high-end sedan. Rebekah recalled seeing posts online about rich young heirs driving for ride-share apps to experience a different kind of

life, and a small smile touched her lips.
Seeing her smile, Jensen asked, “Are you planning to move back to Southborough?”
Rebekah nodded. “After I officially rejoin my birth family, I’ll probably settle down there. But nothing’s confirmed yet; it’s just an idea.”
First, she needed to divorce Benjamin. And before that, she had to clear her name of the crime he had pinned on her.
