My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 71

Rebekah wanted to laugh. It was a bitter, hollow sound.

*If you're determined to find fault, you'll always find a reason.*

"Benjamin, I will find out who framed me. I won't be asking you for help again. And I am divorcing you. It will happen this month."

With that, she turned and walked into the villa.

Benjamin watched her go, a growing sense of panic tightening its grip on him. He had never seen her like this before—a mix of her usual gentleness with a new, unyielding strength.

This time, she was serious.

No. Candice's reputation had to remain flawless. He couldn't risk it.

He pulled out his phone and called his assistant. "Go over the details of that hit-and-run again. Make sure no one can find a single loose end."

Jensen sat in the back of the car, replaying the evening's events in his mind. Rebekah had asked him to text her when he got home. Their relationship was definitely getting closer.

"Mr. Hawthorne," his assistant, now back in his professional role after posing as a ride-share driver, began his report. "The matter you asked me to handle is proceeding smoothly."

Jensen's expression slowly hardened. "Keep watching them."

Over the next few days, Rebekah carefully tended to her injured wrist. When she wasn't working on her designs, she was out of the house, having hired a private investigator to discreetly look into the hit-and-run case.

She had just parted ways with the P.I. when she received a call from the Forrester estate.

"Mommy… Mommy…" Shawn mumbled in his sleep, his voice soft and filled with a longing for comfort.

Rebekah remembered how he used to be when he was sick, clinging to her, wanting her to hold him and make him his favorite foods. Her heart softened, and she started to move toward the bed.

But Candice got there first, tenderly stroking Shawn's cheek. "Shawn, I’m here."

Shawn's eyes fluttered open. He looked at Candice, then his gaze shifted and landed on Rebekah, who was standing by the bed. His face immediately clouded over with disgust.

"Get out! I don't want to see you! I only want Aunt Candice, not you!"

The pure malice in the child's eyes was like a physical blow, as if she were something dirty.

Hortensia shot Rebekah a venomous look. "What are you still doing here? Get out!"
