My Husband's Betrayal My Brothers' Revenge (Rebekah) novel Chapter 73

If Benjamin was so selfish and cold, why would his grandpa be any different? But regardless of his motives, she had a plan. In two months, after the anniversary of her grandmother's death, she would be gone for good.

Because Shawn was so attached to Candice, she ended up staying at the Forrester estate. That evening, Shawn didn't come down for dinner, so Candice prepared a light soup to bring up to him.

Benjamin watched her, his gaze softening. "Thank you for taking care of Shawn while he's sick. You're a wonderful aunt."

Candice smiled graciously. "Don't be silly. I'm his aunt; of course, I'm going to take care of him."

Benjamin's affectionate look vanished the moment he turned and saw Rebekah. His face hardened.

"Candice is just his aunt, and she cares so much for him. You're his mother, yet you do nothing all day but hide in your room. Is your heart made of stone?"

"He's not exactly lacking for caretakers," Rebekah replied flatly, turning to go upstairs.

"Rebekah!" Benjamin roared, but she didn't stop.

"Benjamin, calm down," Candice soothed. "She's been in her room all day; she's probably tired. Don't push her."

His expression grew even colder. "I've spoiled her. After all these years, how would she even survive without the Forrester family?"

His voice carried up the stairs. Rebekah heard him and let out a silent, bitter laugh. If it weren't for him, she wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.

But it was alright. In two months, she would be free.

Candice carried the bowl of soup into Shawn's room. His fever had broken, but he was still weak and lethargic, sitting listlessly on the soft rug on his floor, playing with a set of Legos.
