"I've never seen anyone with such audacity! Celena doesn't know any better, so she can't possibly compare to Cheryl, who's been working in the company for years now. How can you possibly come up with such an idea, Dad? You might as well just announce that Cheryl has won! It's a no-brainer!" Teresa said curtly.

Reginald slapped the table and turned to Teresa with a scowl. "Teresa, are you questioning my judgment?"

Everyone was terrified of Reginald, so naturally Teresa shook her head furiously, blushing. "Of course not, Dad-"

However, Teresa was not the only one thinking this. Everyone else at the meeting thought the same; Reginald wanted only Cheryl for the job but did not want to appear cruel for not giving Celena a chance. However, Cheryl would no doubt win this competition, and there was no going around it, so everyone kept their opinions to themselves.

However, they were still displeased over this. They could not understand why Celena was offered a chance when their children were not. Was Celena better than any of them? No, of course not! The meeting room was now empty. Celena took two steps back and slumped into her chair, her eyes brimming with tears. "Liam, I'm terrible at this! I don't know a single thing about running a business! I'm sorry for disappointing you."

Celena's entire mind was filled with dismay, regret, guilt, and shame. She could not stop her tears from falling anymore. Tears slid down her cheeks, and she clutched her sleeve tightly as she sobbed.

Liam knew that Celena needed time to find her confidence again, so he stepped forward and pulled her into his arms. "Celena, please have some faith in yourself! You were an extraordinary woman even before we met! You're intelligent and quick on your feet—I'm sure you'll pick up the reins in no time! It's okay. There's still plenty of time until the project starts, so I'll help you come up with your business proposal during this time!"
