Beacher was both angry and amused. “I see it now. So, you were pretending

back then?”

Janet blinked and smiled fawningly, “It wasn’t a lie, alright? I was serious. The anesthetic has worn off. It’s just that it was not as serious as what I claimed.”

Beacher did not care how Janet explained. “No way! You need to rest now! Forget about Donahue or Marvin. I won’t agree with that whatsoever! Just focus on getting better, and we’ll talk about everything after you heal.”

The ward was filled with joy, as if spring had arrived. However, Nathaniel and

Donahue were like being in winter, and the atmosphere between them was

very somber.

The two walked out of the ward and went straight to the vacant ward next to

that of Janet.

Nathaniel could feel the cold aura coming from Donahue, and he could even

wanted to thank me? I saved Janet. Aren’t I qualified to ask this?”

Donahue didn’t say anything. Nathaniel paused for a second and continued,

“Now that we have saved her, it is very likely that those people will hold a

grudge against us. Waiting for them to show up passively might leave Janet

in danger. Compared with that, why don’t we take the initiative to attack?
