Just as Claudia was about to refuse, Gideon walked up to them.

He greeted York and then said, "Come with us. You might even know this person, Mr. Ferguson."

York glanced at Claudia. "Alright," he agreed.

With the decision made between them, Claudia couldn't object.

Two cars headed towards the west side of the city. An hour later, they pulled into the driveway of a large, standalone villa.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Claudia noticed York's expression growing increasingly tense. She hesitated for a moment before asking, "Do you know the owner of this house?"

When York didn't answer, Claudia opened her door to get out. York unbuckled his seatbelt and grabbed her wrist.

She turned back and caught the hesitation in his eyes.

Before he could speak, she said, "York, you promised me you wouldn't interfere with my work."

York's eyes darkened, and he released her hand.

A butler respectfully led them into the living room, where an old man with white hair and a cane came forward to greet them. Gideon stepped up to greet Old Mr. Grant, then introduced Claudia and the other doctor to him.

Old Mr. Grant nodded, his gaze sweeping over York with a flash of hostility.

"The Grant family does not welcome Fergusons," Old Mr. Grant declared, immediately dismissing him. "Butler, see him out!"

York remained unfazed, taking Claudia's hand. "Since Old Mr. Grant doesn't wish to see any Fergusons, we'll leave."
