York slowly loosened his grip.

He held her arms, looking into her eyes. "I admit, when Ann first came back, I was conflicted. I was wrong, I admit that. But I don't love her!"

Before he finished, Claudia cut in, "Even if you don't love her, you don't love me either."

They looked at each other. York tried to force a smile, but for a long moment, no sound came out.

He stared into her eyes, finally finding his voice.

"Claudia, give me one more chance. Let me learn how to love you."

Claudia laughed as she refused. "York, any man can love me. Except you. You don't deserve to."

A ride-share car pulled up to the curb.

Claudia gave York one last look and said lightly, "Then let's just be separated for now."

No matter what, she would not give up on the divorce.

Watching Claudia get in the car and drive away, York leaned against a tree trunk for support, his body limp.

A few minutes later, Mark rushed over. "Mr. Ferguson, the surveillance shows Miss James leaving her apartment late at night."

York pulled his thoughts from his anguish and got into his car.
