No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 93

The sight of Ann James and her son made York's pupils constrict.

"What are you two doing here?!" he snapped.

His reaction was so strong that he accidentally knocked Ethan over.

The child fell to the floor and started wailing, the sound grating on York's frayed nerves. He strode quickly into the living room.

Ann hadn't expected such a volatile reaction.

She helped her son up, her eyes turning red with hurt. "York, don't be like this."

York calmed himself slightly and explained, "Sorry, that was an accident."

Ann tried to change the subject. "York, you must be exhausted after such a long flight. Go wash up and have something to eat in the dining room. We can talk about everything else tomorrow."

"Tell me, where is she?" York demanded, his face cold.

Claudia was a proud woman.

Even if she had been forced to accept the current situation, she would never live peacefully under the same roof as Ann.

And she would certainly never allow Ann James and her son into their marital home.

Seeing that she couldn't hide it any longer, Ann confessed, "York, please don't be angry. It was Miss Watkins who asked us to move in. She isn't here."

Before Ann could finish, York corrected her, enunciating each word. "Address her as Mrs. Ferguson!"

Ann hid the resentment in her eyes and explained, "I'm sorry, York. It was Miss Watkins who told me to call her that."

Ann continued, "A few days ago, she called me herself and told me to bring my son here. She said she would divorce you to be with us. She even contacted a renovation company and had me redecorate this house for the three of us to live in."

Standing in the living room, York swayed on his feet.

So, the renovations weren't because she'd had a change of heart and was ready to move back in.

It was to bring Ann James and her son here, to force him to make a choice.

Seeing York's terrifyingly dark expression, Ann subtly nudged her son.
