No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 99

The next morning, in the executive CEO's office at Ferguson Group.

Mark knocked and entered. "Mr. Ferguson, the Old Master sent the butler over. He insists that you return to Ferguson Mansion today."

York signed the document in one smooth motion. "Book a flight to Caledon for tonight."

At noon, in a Western restaurant near the Ferguson Group headquarters.

York met with Ann.

After the waiter served their meal, Ann cautiously observed York's expression.

She noticed his gaze kept darting to his phone.

Ann tightened her grip on her silverware. "York, I was wrong about last night. I shouldn't have agreed to your wife's request to move into your home."

York elegantly cut his steak and replied with a noncommittal "Mm."

Ann gripped her knife and fork tighter, her expression strained.

After a moment of tense silence, she tried again. "York, I didn't think it through. It's my fault that you and your wife have reached this point. I'll do whatever it takes to persuade her to come back. I'll go find her and explain everything."

York stopped cutting his steak.

He put down his utensils and looked up at Ann. His voice was quiet but carried an undeniable authority.

"Ann," he said, "if you genuinely don't want me and my wife to get a divorce, the best thing you can do is keep your distance."

Ann was rendered speechless by his bluntness.

She forced a strained smile and said, "I'm sorry, York. I can be slow sometimes. I didn't realize your wife was doing it all on purpose. I won't go find her. Please don't be angry."
