"How did things go with Nelly last night?"
Cedric's expression stiffened slightly. "Don't ask questions you shouldn't. Villains die from talking too much."
"Whoa, don't tell me you actually slept with her! What now?"
"No, I didn't touch her."
"Good thing you kept your head. Don't forget this: the two of you can never be together. Get a grip, alright?"
Cedric glanced back at Noelle, who was eating at the table. His gaze softened as he looked at her.
"I know," he said, his voice tinged with bitterness. He knew it better than anyone, but now he found himself caught between a rock and a hard place.
Changing the subject, Cedric asked, "Did you find out anything about last night's incident?"
"Leave that to me. But what about Nelly being set up? If we hadn't been there last night, who knows what could've happened to her?"
"Didn't you say Samantha had a history of bullying her classmates and stirring up trouble? Dig up the worst of it and make the Merlock family teach their daughter a lesson!" Cedric instructed.
He knew Noelle didn't want him to intervene, but that didn't mean he would stand by and do nothing. After ending the call, Cedric sent a message to his secretary, saying, "Clear the hotel!"
He couldn't risk anyone seeing Noelle when they left later.
