Noelle returned to her dorm, replaying the events from the gym earlier that day. She hadn't expected the usually calm and composed Cedric to show such an impulsive side.
When he took action, he was a completely different person from his usual aloof, dignified self. Could it be that Cedric really had some hidden identity?
The next day, Grace forwarded a post to her.
"I heard a creep from the gym across the street got caught. Be careful if you go there—it seems like he's been bothering a lot of girls."
Noelle quickly skimmed through the post; sure enough, it was about the incident from yesterday. It seemed her guess was correct—the scumbag had targeted girls before and even hurt some of them.
The victims were just schoolgirls. How could they stand up to an adult man, let alone a repeat offender? She had truly done a public service yesterday.
Unfortunately, Cedric had gotten hurt in the process. She pulled out her phone and sent him a message. "Are you awake?"
"Yeah, what's up?"
"Send me a picture."
Leaning against the headboard, Cedric replied, "Of what?"
Upon seeing his reply, Noelle quickly locked her phone screen, her face flushing as if she'd been caught doing something embarrassing. She composed herself before replying, "The band-aid I put on yesterday."
"It's still there."
"I won't believe you unless you show me."
"Why not come and see it for yourself?"
Noelle stared at the chat box, wondering if Cedric could ever just speak properly.
…
Magnus had suddenly withdrawn from the finals in her past life. It was completely unexpected and shocked everyone. Some even speculated that the Liddell Corporation had forced Magnus to back out.
However, Noelle knew Magnus was the beloved young master of the Greene family, and the Liddell family didn't have that kind of power.
Magnus stared at the question, momentarily confused. Why was she asking something like this? He was left speechless.
Seeing that Magnus hadn't replied, Noelle said, "If it's hard to answer, just forget it."
"It's a bit tricky to answer," Magnus finally replied. "Because I've never thought about it. After all, I'm a professional. I wouldn't quit a match without a good reason."
He wouldn't do that for the finals, either. But since Noelle was asking, there had to be a reason. Could she be testing his dedication to gaming?
After all, Emma didn't approve of him pursuing a professional gaming career. He wouldn't have the chance if it weren't for Cedric's support.
Magnus thought momentarily and then replied, "Actually, there is someone who could make me quit the finals." Cedric, of course!
