No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 392

"Something like that. I'm going to change my clothes," Noelle said as she turned and headed to her bedroom. She needed a moment to calm herself down.

Cedric was waiting outside when Noelle's phone suddenly rang.

Glancing at the screen, he saw it was Magnus calling and answered the call without hesitation.

Magnus' voice came through. "I'm guessing you're home now, and I have something really important to tell you."

"What is it?" Cedric asked.

His words were met with a heavy silence on the other end of the line.

Magnus broke out in a cold sweat and asked, "Why are you the one answering the phone?"

"Disappointed? Go on and say what you wanted to say."

Cedric's eyes narrowed slightly. It was late, and judging from how Magnus was calling Noelle, what could he have wanted to tell her that was of such importance?

"I-I just wanted to say that you're really amazing! Oh no, my phone's about to die. Gotta go!" Magnus stammered and hurriedly hung up.

He panicked and decided he'd have to lie low for a while. This could get dangerous.

Cedric stared at the disconnected call. He doubted Magnus had anything good to say about him.

Noelle came out not long after. She looked changed and much calmer. "Thank you for worrying about me."

Apart from Cedric, no one else in this world would rush to find her simply because she hadn't answered her phone or replied to texts.

Cedric looked at her deeply. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'm fine. Frank has seen Xenia's true colors. He's now walking on eggshells and won't do anything to harm me." Noelle avoided mentioning Blake.

Cedric seemed to notice but didn't press. After a moment of silence, he asked, "Is it true that you remember nothing about what happened during the accident?"

"Nothing. The doctors said it was post-traumatic amnesia. My body has sealed the memory to protect me."

When she arrived at the base, she saw a crowd gathered outside. Some held support banners with Blake's name written on them. Noelle frowned and wondered why he was there.

She walked into the base and saw Blake surrounded by fans.

The moment he spotted her, he walked over and smiled warmly. "Let me introduce a very important family member. This is Noelle Liddell, my sister."

The fans around them screamed in excitement.

Noelle kept a straight face and lowered her voice. "What are you doing? I have nothing to do with the Liddells anymore."

Was that another guilt-tripping attempt?

"You've misunderstood. I'm here to make peace. Frank told me about everything that's happened, and Xenia misled me into treating you the way I did."

Blake had verified the footage earlier that day. It was clear Noelle had nothing to do with it.

He continued, "I didn't mean to upset you. Calm down, alright?"
