Chapter 48
Cedric also noticed that Noelle did not look well. She seemed slightly dazed, and her lips were pale. He reached out to touch her forehead, but her forehead wasn’t hot. He asked instead, ” What’s wrong?”
Feeling his cool palm, Noelle replied weakly, “I have a stomach ache. It’s probably because I ate too much spicy food earlier.”
It had been a long time since she had eaten that much, so her stomach probably wasn’t used to it..
Cedric retrieved his hand and went to take some digestive pills and a cup of water for her. She weakly swallowed the medicine.
Then, Cedric took her pencil and said, “Stop studying. You should rest today.”
She was indeed feeling uncomfortable, and she had suspected that her period had arrived. So, her expression immediately tensed when she stood up and felt something flow in her lower region.
She knew that this would happen!
Noelle proceeded to rush into the bathroom and was met with a streak of blood; her period had indeed arrived. She wondered what she should do now.
She just remembered that she was in her apartment, not at the Liddell residence. She had also forgotten to stock up on pads.
Her original plan was to buy some after school, but Justin’s confession and the whole fiasco with Lucas had caused her to forget all about it.
Cedric waited outside the bathroom for a long time. Seeing how she was taking so long, he knocked on the door worriedly and asked, “Is everything alright in there?”
Noelle hesitated momentarily before asking, “Could you help me buy something?”
“Sure, but you can tell me about it once you’ve come out of the bathroom.”
Noelle was getting anxious as she replied, “I can’t come out for the time being.”
Cedric’s frown deepened as he said, “Be honest with me. What’s wrong?”
“I’m on my period,” Noelle said, her face flushing red.
She had been by her brothers‘ sides since she was she was young. They were all men, so they did not understand many things about women. A housekeeper had taken care of her during her first period.
Cedric stood by the door. “Your period?”
“That’s right,” she said softly, feeling incredibly embarrassed. After all, it was a private matter.
Cedric said coldly, “Alright then.”
The store clerk quickly wrapped the sanitary pads up and suddenly asked, “Does your girlfriend need any comfort food to soothe her period pain?”
Cedric paused momentarily before saying, “She does.”
The store clerk proceeded to wrap up some chocolates and sweets. She could not help but feel envious of his girlfriend. She wondered how that woman had managed to find such a
handsome and considerate man.
Cedric carried the bag and headed back to the apartment.
Alfred appeared out of nowhere and asked, “Ced, what did you buy? Why are you carrying so many items?”
His eyes twitched as he caught sight of the items in the bag. “If I’m not mistaken, those sanitary pads… are for women? Ced, is this some new hobby of yours?”
Alfred couldn’t help but wonder when his friend had ever been that considérate of a woman. Something didn’t feel right, as there was no way Cedric’s relationship with Noelle would ever
