Xenia obediently nodded while Noelle looked up and said, "I'll tell the truth. Why should I turn the other way?"
As soon as she spoke, she noticed the drastic change in Xenia's expression. It was obvious the latter didn't want the issue to escalate.
Noelle stared at her and stated, "Plus, I don't think Gordon took his life. He must've been murdered."
"That's impossible!" Xenia immediately refuted. "He felt guilty and decided to take his life. No one had the motive to kill him either.
"Plus, we were all in our rooms last night. Who could've done it?"
Donovan shot Noelle a look of disapproval. "If this issue blows up, it'll harm both your reputations."
"I don't care. I wasn't the one who slept with Gordon either." Noelle's eyes carried a mocking and malicious glint, instantly igniting the fury in Xenia's heart. If only she'd emptied the Liddell family's wealth sooner, Noelle would've died last night!
As she recalled Sean's words, Xenia cried pitifully. "Donovan, it's okay if I suffer. But Noelle and I were in the same room last night. If this spreads, no one will believe she wasn't involved."
Blake snapped, "Oh shut up, Xenia!"
Noelle took out her phone. "I have a video as proof that you're the one who slept with Gordon."
Xenia gritted her teeth in anger. "But the outside world won't believe your so-called evidence!"
Donovan rubbed his temples in frustration. "Noelle, what do you want just to cooperate?"
"My demands are simple—return the assets Mom and Dad left me and transfer all your shares to the entertainment company." It was only then that Donovan would lose control over the company.
Donovan gritted his teeth. "You're taking advantage of the situation, Noelle."
"Oh wow, you figured that out? Those are my only two conditions, and I'll cooperate with the police investigation only if you agree."
"No need for the trouble. Just sign this." Blake withdrew a share transfer contract and placed it in front of Donovan.
Donovan's expression turned ashen as he stared at Blake. "Are you sure you want to sever ties with me? Would your company have made it this far without me?"
"I'll walk my own path from now on." Blake was determined to hold full control of the company now.
Donovan had no choice but to sign. "Fine! From today onward, don't expect another dollar from me for your company!"
Xenia pitifully murmured, "I'm sorry, Donovan. It's all my fault. You wouldn't have lost so much money if you hadn't tried to protect my reputation."
"As your brother, it's my duty to protect you, Xenia. You're the victim here, unlike Noelle, who only takes advantage of the situation."
Donovan glared at Noelle and continued, "Look at how magnanimous Xenia is! She's willing to forgo calling the police for the sake of the Liddell family while you're trying to force us into a dead end!"
