No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 517

Emma's words carried a significant amount of weight, and the message she wanted to convey was clear.

Donovan's face turned pale. The Liddell family could hardly afford to offend the Parham family, let alone the Greene family.

Everyone present silently observed the chaos. Not a single soul dared to utter even a single word, for no one present dared to even think about crossing the Greene family.

Xenia was on the verge of tears, and she started to choke up. "Donovan, I had no idea that she was Mrs. Greene! Noelle could have told me, but she didn't say a thing!"

Had Noelle given her a heads-up, she would not possibly have offended Emma. Donovan turned to look at Noelle. "Why didn't you tell her?"

Things would not have escalated to such a point had Noelle done so. Noelle sneered. "You're actually blaming me for this?"

She had also just learned that the guest was Magnus's mother, Emma Brown. It was clear that the Liddells had not changed a single bit.

Emma immediately stepped in front of Noelle before coldly addressing Donovan. "What are you yelling at her for? Noelle had no idea who I was either, and she didn't do anything wrong!"

Noelle was surprised by Emma's protective gesture and felt a warm feeling in her heart.

Emma then turned to Noelle, her tone now much softer. "I wasn't feeling well just now, and it was Noelle who helped me to the lounge to rest up. Meanwhile, that adopted young sister of yours kept on bothering Noelle! How disrespectful!"

Donovan's expression was sunken, but he did not dare to say anything.

Xenia was even more afraid than he was and could only reply in whispers. "I just wanted to bring the desserts to Mrs. Parham as soon as possible."

Brittany immediately denied Xenia's claims. "Don't drag me into this. I never told you to do any of it."

She then turned to Emma and continued, "The only reason I played along with their antics was to see for myself the extent of their biased treatment toward Noelle. It turns out the rumors were true! They really do dote on the adopted Xenia while they mistreat their own biological younger sister."

Donovan tried to explain the situation. "Mrs. Parham, that's not the case."

Emma turned to Noelle and continued, "You were wronged today. How do you wish to handle this, Noelle?"

Noelle was surprised by how well Emma was treating her. She thought about it for a moment and then replied, "Let's just leave it at this for now. The charity sales event has already begun."

The whole fiasco had delayed the event significantly.

Emma was also just reminded of the event. "Oh, right! I almost forgot about it. Let's just enjoy this charity sales event for now. We can deal with the matter afterward."

Noelle finally breathed a sigh of relief. Everyone took their seats as if nothing had happened earlier.

Emma glanced at Noelle and said, "You should go ahead and take care of your work."

It was only then that Noelle finally stepped back to the side. Donovan walked up to her with Xenia in tow and whispered, "Noelle, thanks for not making things any worse. You've done well."
