Connor stumbled out in a daze.
Back at his place in Khelmark City, all he could see was Zoe’s ice–cold rejection- and that smile she only ever gave Lucian.
It was driving him insane.
He crashed onto the bed, mind spinning, and eventually passed out in a restless haze.
When Connor opened his eyes, he was back at the Elite Match Gala.
His heart jumped–he’d picked the tulip bouquet. Zoe’s bouquet.
Perfect. He could fix everything. Start over. This time, he wouldn’t—
But then, to his horror, he saw himself hurl the orchids to the ground and storm off.
What the hell? Why couldn’t he stop it? Why wasn’t he in control?
Like a ghost, Connor hovered helplessly, clawing to get back into his body—but he
couldn’t even touch it.
And the Zoe here? Still hopelessly in love with him.
He watched in horror as his past self lured her out, snapped those intimate photos in secret, then dumped her in public and plastered those photos everywhere.
Connor froze, staring at the mess he’d made. He tried to run to her, to catch her before she broke–but he couldn’t touch a thing.
How could he have done this? He loved her. He would never-
But all he could do was watch.
He watched her get ripped apart online, strangers stalking her doorstep. Watched himself and Vicky parade around like nothing, while the world shredded Zoe’s name until there was nothing left.
He saw Zoe call him, again and again. Watched himself ignore her–then hang up on her final, desperate call for help.

He knelt beside her, sobbing, but couldn’t touch her. Couldn’t hold her.
Was this his punishment?
He tried to lift her lifeless body–his arms passed right through.
Connor shot awake, drenched in sweat.

“Hah… hah…”
His ragged breathing echoed through the room.
Just a dream.
Thank God it was just a dream.
…Was it?
Connor tried to calm his racing heart, going over every weird thing Zoe had done since the Elite Match Gala.
The way her love just… vanished. The way she agreed to a political marriage like it was nothing. The way she moved out, left Southport÷like she already knew every move he’d make.
It all lined up.
Zoe had been planning to escape him from the start.
And when those explicit photos dropped? She’d immediately blamed him…
The more he thought about it, the colder he felt.
If all that really happened in Zoe’s past life, then every move she made now added
But if that was real-
