No More Mrs. Nice Wife (Eleanor) novel Chapter 1093

Eleanor was about to reach for one when Ian took a shrimp. "Daddy will peel it for you."

Evelyn nodded happily. "Daddy, you have to peel one for Mommy too! Mommy always used to peel them for us!"

Eleanor froze for a second, then said to her daughter, "Evelyn, you go ahead and eat."

Ian skillfully peeled a shrimp and put it in his daughter's bowl. He continued peeling, and after the fourth one, Evelyn took a shrimp from her bowl and put it in Eleanor's. "Mommy, you told me shrimp is very nutritious, so you have to eat some too."

Serena watched from the side, and Magdalen was also looking on expectantly.

Eleanor stared at the two shrimp in her bowl, momentarily stunned.

"Mommy, eat it!" Evelyn urged, holding a shrimp in her own hand while her big eyes watched to make sure Eleanor ate hers.

Eleanor picked up the shrimp with her fork and gently took a bite.

Across the table, the man's hands paused for a few seconds. Magdalen couldn't help but look pleased.

Only Serena felt a heaviness in her heart; Eleanor eating the shrimp Ian peeled didn't mean anything anymore.

The meal still had a certain warmth to it. Ian didn't say much, but he made sure everyone was served.

After dinner, Ian rode home with Eleanor, while Serena was driven back to her private room at the lab by a bodyguard.

Back home, Eleanor washed her daughter's hair, gave her a bath, read her a story, and tucked her into bed. The time spent with her daughter flew by.

Three days passed in a flash. Mansfield was scheduled to be discharged from the hospital tomorrow.

Early in the morning, after a meeting with Smith, Eleanor returned to her office. When she opened the door, she found someone sitting on her sofa—Ian.

He seemed to be waiting specifically for her.

"Can I help you?" she asked.

Ian's handsome face froze for a few seconds, his breath catching. He snatched the medical report from the desk and turned away. "Fine."

In the hallway, Serena was walking toward them. Seeing what Ian was clutching in his hand, she asked curiously, "Ian, what's that?"

Ian handed it to her without a word and strode toward the elevator.

Serena stared in bewilderment at the crumpled medical report in her hand.

What had gotten into Ian?

Ian walked out of the lab's lobby and got into the waiting car. Just then, his phone rang. He glanced at it and saw it was an unfamiliar number.

"Hello, who is this?"

"Mr. Goodwin, it's Mansfield. Is it a good time to meet?" Mansfield's voice came from the other end.
