Chapter 10

7/1

Jason stood in the doorway, looking at Victoria in her wedding dress with a mocking smile. His voice was ice–cold.

“I just told you not to cause trouble for Sophia, and you immediately have her abducted? Do you have to torment her every single moment? Now you’re staging this whole charade?”

Victoria looked up, confusion flashing in her eyes. Just as she was about to defend herself, Jason’s bodyguards stepped forward. One grabbed her long hair and roughly yanked her to the ground.

Victoria’s knees slammed hard against the marble floor, the sharp pain instantly draining the color from her face.

“Jason!” Victoria stared at him in disbelief. “How dare you treat me like this?”

He looked down at her, eyes devoid of warmth. He waved his hand and told the bodyguards coldly, “Get her in the car.”

The bodyguards efficiently grabbed Victoria. Ignoring her struggles, they shoved her into the black sedan waiting outside. The moment the car door closed, a drug–soaked cloth was pressed firmly over her nose and mouth.

Victoria’s pupils contracted sharply. She struggled briefly before losing consciousness.

After what felt like hours, she was jolted awake by excruciating pain.

She found herself stuffed inside a rough burlap sack, her body curled up and unable to move. The next second, someone lifted the sack roughly and threw it to the ground like trash.

Her arm slammed hard against the concrete floor, sharp pain shooting from her wrist as if the bone had snapped.

“Mmph…” She groaned in pain, but with her mouth taped shut, only weak whimpers escaped.

One for one. Hand over Sophia.” Jason’s voice came from outside the sack, cold and unfamiliar.

“Everyone says Mr. Reid loves Ms. Page. Guess the rumors are true.” A raspy male voice sneered. “Since you don’t care about Mrs. Reid anyway, how about you stab her once? Let’s test your true loyalty.”

Jason was silent for several seconds, then said flatly, “Isn’t the money enough?”

“Money?” The abductor scoffed. “Mr. Reid, we didn’t take her for money.‘

Just then, footsteps echoed from the shadows. Accompanied by slow, mocking applause, Wesley sauntered up to Jason with an amused smile. “Mr. Reid,

Jason’s expression instantly turned cold. “Wesley, I should have known.”

Wesley shrugged casually. My perfect plan was ruined by your ‘devoted wife‘ before. Now I’m just asking you to stab her once. That’s not unreasonable, is it?”

“What plan?Jason frowned.-

Wesley flashed a twisted smile and leaned close to his ear, lowering his voice. “Don’t you know? I was planning to

A sharp ringtone cut through Wesley’s words. He glanced at the caller ID and hit the speakerphone button casually.

Wesley, when are you coming? We’re all waiting for you!

Yeah, yeah.” Wesley stepped back with mock disappointment, “You heard that, Mr. Reid? My friends are calling me to hang out, so you need to decide quickly. Either stab Victoria once, or

He paused, his smile turning vicious. “Nobody leaves.

The air seemed to freeze. Jason’s gaze fell on the writhing burlap sack, complex emotions flashing in his eyes.

After a moment, he reached for the knife Wesley offered, saying in a low voice, “Fine.
