Chapter 18

Margaret and Henry were pressed into chairs by Jason’s bodyguards, their faces deathly pale.

Jason stood before them, his gaze cold as ice. “Where is Maya?” He gritted his teeth, saying each word slowly and deliberately.

Margaret’s lips trembled as she forced herself to speak. “That brat took the money and left! 30 million dollars, not a penny less! She’s been difficult, even as a child, and now she’s grown bold enough to disrespect her parents…”

“Shut up!” Jason slammed the table so hard that the entire room shook. “It’s not your place to judge my wife!”

At that moment, Benjamin hurried through the door, handing Jason a stack of documents. “Mr. Reid, I found everything.”

Jason opened the file, his expression darkening with every page.

Maya had been abandoned in the countryside from birth. Her parents never visited her for 20 years and didn’t even provide her with living expenses. She survived only on Olivia’s small pension.

When Maya was five and had a fever of 104 degrees, Olivia called for help all night, but Margaret hung up every time. The doctor said if they’d been ten minutes later, it could have been fatal.

Victoria had lavish birthday parties every year, while Maya didn’t even own decent winter coat.

“I see. Very good.”

Jason’s voice was dangerously menacing as he threw the documents at the

couple’s faces. “How can parents like you even exist?”

Henry’s face stung from the paper cuts, but he still tried to argue. “We gave birth to her and raised her for this long. Isn’t that enough?” “Raised her?Jason grabbed Henry by the collar. Every piece of clothing she wore before she was 18 was a hand–me-

He released his grip abruptly and ordered the bodyguards harshly, Take them to the basement and ‘take careof willing to tell the truth.”

As the bodyguards roughly dragged the couple away, the door to the study suddenly burst open. Victoria rushed in, her face deathly pale.

Jason! Have you lost your mind? Let my parents go!

Jason looked at her coldly. “Finally dropping the act? Victoria.

Victoria’s entire body stiffened, then she screamed hysterically, “Yes! I’m Victoria! So what? That bitch never should have married you! She’s just some nobody from the countryside, what right does she have-

A harsh slap struck her face. Victoria staggered backward, clutching her cheek in disbelief.
