Skylar’s inner turmoil remained hidden as she calmly inquired, “Who is Sue?”

Based on her slightly delayed reaction just now, Yosef was pretty sure she was Sue. However, since it was clear she didn’t want Yosef to know he decided to go along with it and pretend he was oblivious.

Yosef shrugged off any concerns and casually said, “It’s nothing.”

Skylar wanted to avoid being recognized and felt uneasy around Yosef. “There’s nothing more to discuss, so I’m leaving,” she said, heading for the balcony, hoping to get away from him. Annoyingly, she noticed he was right behind her.

Yosef approached her with courtesy and inquired, “May I have the pleasure of knowing your name, miss?”

“I don’t intend to get close to you, so there’s no reason for you to know my name,” Skylar said curtly, subtly quickening her pace as she spoke.

Noticing that Skylar was speeding up, Yosef discreetly matched her pace, ensuring that they maintained the exact distance between them. Frustrated that she couldn’t lose him, Skylar snapped, “Why do you keep following me?”

His expression remained calm, his icy eyes betraying a hint of feigned innocence as he said, “I’m not following you; we just happen to be going the same way.”

Skylar demanded, “Then what on earth do you mean?”

Yosef stepped closer and reached out towards her. Skylar’s eyes widened with alarm. Instinctively, she slapped his hand away and demanded angrily, “What do you think you’re doing?”

Yosef said softly, “You have a mole right there–exactly like the one my wife has. I just wanted to check if you might be…” Before Yosef could finish speaking, Skylar interrupted him sharply, exclaiming, “I’m not her.” Her voice was loud and cutting.

Pulling her shirt collar a bit tighter, Skylar said, “Mr. Campbell, coincidences happen all the time, I happen to have a mole in the same spot as your wife’s–nothing more.”

Yosef’s eyes sparkled with amusement. “Is that so?”
