The Lost Heiress: Never Forgiven (Sierra Xander) novel Chapter 518

After hanging up the call, Maddox found himself wide awake. He stepped out onto the balcony and lit a cigarette.

He had no idea why Victor had suddenly taken such a deep interest in Susie, but one thing was clear—there was something going on he wasn’t being told.

He took out his phone, pulled up Jonathan’s number, and hovered for a long moment. But in the end, he didn’t make the call.

Right now, even if he did reach out, Jonathan wouldn’t believe him. Worse, he might think it was a trap Victor had set, and that Maddox was helping him lay it.

So, the call never went through.

But Maddox’s silence didn’t mean Jonathan was unaware.

Victor’s actions were too loud—too obvious. Jonathan’s side caught wind almost immediately.

The moment Jonathan learned Victor had met with Susie, he began making preparations. What he hadn’t expected was how fast Victor would react.

Though he’d hoped to avoid involving Chase and Susie again, Jonathan still made the call and had them come over.

He gave them one final warning. “Victor is suspicious. If you want to leave, now’s the time.”

Susie tensed. Chase turned to her, eyes full of concern.

But in the end, Susie shook her head firmly. “No. I’m not leaving. You’re all still here. As long as that’s true, I’m not afraid.”

Jonathan didn’t try to change her mind. Seeing they’d made their decision, he simply reminded them, “Keep a close eye on Jose.”

Jose had a reckless streak, and Jonathan feared he might be manipulated.

“Don’t worry. He understands what’s at stake. He hasn’t been out much lately,” Chase replied.

With the important matters handled, there wasn’t much else to say.

Despite being family, they were also like strangers.

Chase and Susie knew full well—everything that had happened today, they’d brought on themselves. They didn’t expect Jonathan’s forgiveness. After saying their goodbyes, they turned to leave.

Just then, the butler rushed upstairs.

“Master, Madam just fainted.”

Jonathan’s face changed instantly, and he bolted downstairs.

The doctor was already examining Sierra as Jonathan arrived, lips pressed tight in worry.

Chase and Susie didn’t leave right away, staying in case something went wrong.

Thankfully, the doctor finished the exam quickly.

“From the blood test results, it seems Madam fainted due to low blood sugar.”
