On Her Daddy's Bed (Adeline and Luciano) novel Chapter 54

Author’s POV.

Alex allowed himself to bask in the pleasure her lips offered him. The taste of her, the soft texture of her lips as they moved against his—it was intoxicating. He pulled her closer by the waist, his body aching to be closer, to feel every inch of her pressed against him. Tracy moaned softly into his mouth, and Alex savored the warmth of her lips, the sweet sensation of their kiss lingering, sending a shockwave of pleasure through his veins.

Her heart leaped, the intense surge of emotions making her skin feel as though it were alive. Sparks of pleasure crackled from her lips to her fingertips, radiating down to her core. Her pussy tingled, warmth spreading from within, and she couldn’t deny how much she craved him—how much she wanted to stay lost in this moment with him. The wetness between her thighs deepened, and she felt the overwhelming rush of desire flood her. The pleasure was soothing, like a balm for her heart. She could have stayed here, in his arms, for hours.

But then, the sudden beep of her phone sliced through the air, pulling them apart like a cruel twist of fate. Tracy’s eyes fluttered open, the spell broken, and she groaned softly in frustration. She didn’t want to stop, not now, not when everything had been perfect just moments ago. But Alex, sensing the distraction, reluctantly pulled away.

“You should pick up your call,” he said, his voice calm but laced with an undertone that was impossible for her to ignore. He flashed her a reassuring smile, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes.

Tracy pouted. “But I don’t want to,” she protested, not wanting the moment to end.

“The caller won’t stop calling, Tracy,” Alex pointed out. “You should get it over with.”

Sighing, she reluctantly reached for her phone, her stomach twisting. The name that flashed on the screen was one she hadn’t expected to see at this moment—her father. She felt a rush of discomfort, a small knot forming in her stomach. But she had no choice but to answer.

Alex’s eyes flickered briefly to the screen, catching a glimpse of the name, and a strange, unfamiliar feeling stirred within him. His heart tightened as he registered the name—her father. He tried to ignore the sensation, tried to convince himself that it didn’t mean anything. The man on the other side of the line, the one Tracy was about to speak to, couldn’t be the same person he was searching for. Couldn’t be the man whose life he was planning to take. But even as he tried to dismiss the thought, it lingered in the back of his mind.

Tracy pressed the phone to her ear, her voice light as she greeted her father. “Hello, Daddy.”

“Hello, Princess. How have you been?” Her father’s voice was warm and comforting, filled with the love and concern a father has for his daughter.

“Pretty good, Daddy,” she replied, trying to keep her voice even, though a small trace of frustration leaked through.

“You barely call these days. Are you that busy with work?”

Tracy’s breath hitched, a feeling of annoyance welling up inside her. She had kept her distance from her father for weeks now. The distance wasn’t just physical—it was emotional. She had been angry at him for reasons she wasn’t ready to face yet. But she wasn’t about to tell him that.

“I’m sorry I haven’t been calling, Daddy,” she said, her tone apologetic, though not completely sincere. “I’ve been preparing for my first exam, so I’ve been a bit distracted.”

“It’s okay, pretty… I just want to make sure you’re safe. Stay safe,” her father replied, and Tracy felt her heart tug in response. He always worried about her, always made sure she knew he cared.

“I will, Daddy,” she said softly. “I’ll talk to you soon.” The conversation ended soon after, and Tracy let out a breath she didn’t know she had been holding. The tension in her chest didn’t fully dissipate, though. She was still aware of the throbbing ache between her thighs, the lingering heat from their kiss. She couldn’t ignore it, no matter how hard she tried.

Alex, on the other hand, was silently struggling. The moment Tracy’s father spoke, he had recognized the voice. It was unmistakable. The same voice he had heard in the pictures Axel had shown him. The same man whose life he had sworn to take, and now, standing right in front of him, was his daughter. His heart sank. He felt a cold rush of dread wash over him. How could this be happening?

Tracy turned to him, her voice breaking through his dark thoughts. “Are you okay?”

Alex blinked, snapping out of his trance. He managed to smile, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. He was too shaken, too lost in his own mind to fully process what was happening.

“I’m fine,” he lied, forcing the words out with a calmness he didn’t feel.

“Is… is that your father?” Tracy asked, her curiosity evident. She hadn’t noticed anything amiss—her father’s voice was always so reassuring, so warm. But she had noticed a subtle shift in Alex’s demeanor. He wasn’t acting like himself.

Alex hesitated, his chest tight. He swallowed hard, trying to find the words. “Yes, that’s him,” he finally said, his voice soft.

“Can I see his picture?” Tracy asked, holding the phone out to him.

Alex’s heart stuttered. He took the phone, his hand trembling slightly as he gazed at the picture. The man in the photo was the same man he had seen in Axel’s files. The realization hit him with a force he couldn’t ignore. The man he was going to kill was her father.

He couldn’t breathe. The air in the room felt thick, suffocating. His mind screamed at him to stop—stop thinking, stop looking, stop caring. But he couldn’t. Not now. Not when he was already so entangled in this web.

“Is everything okay?” Tracy asked, her concern deepening. She could sense that something had changed in him.

Alex flashed her a smile, but it was forced, empty. “Of course,” he replied, though the lie hung between them like a heavy weight.
