“Alex.” The word left his mouth and the crowd went silent as they awaited the arrival of the person.

Tracy’s heart melted as she watched him walk through the crowd, seeing him gleam up in his favorite navy blue color made her heart race, and his gentle step toward the stage informed her mind of how gently he took her every time. But the happiness in her heart was soon replaced with pain when she remembered that he was no longer she and the gentle radiating beauty that he possesses now can never be hers.

“Staring at him like that might cause you pain.” Hazel’s gentle voice filled her ear and she shut her eyes, forcing a smile out of her lips.

“He looks handsome.” she smiled and Hazel’s hand gripped hers from the side.

“You look beautiful too Tracy.”

“But he isn't seeing it.” her voice cracked betraying her.

Hazel sighed and rubbed her hand gently.

“I promise you that you will find someone who sees it a lot more it just needs time.”

Tracy managed to force a smile out of her lips.

She wished it was as easy as it was said and the easy part should rather take a nap somewhere else cause she wished for one thing, that Alex is the man who sees everything worthy In her.

The loud cheer from the audience as he walked to the stage jolted Tracy out of her thoughts.

“Let's enjoy the moment.” Hazel beamed and she smiled.

Alex bowed in front of Axel, they shook hands and Axel took the mic to his mouth.

“Having you by my side all these years has comforted me in so many ways, I would like to inform you that you are no longer the senior secretary to the A&A group but the managing director, and you could work with me hand in hand wherever I go.”

Alex's heart fluttered, and he went numb at the mouth-watering offer, he stared at Alex unable to say a word, fighting between tears of happiness. The announcement was shocking to him and to everyone.

The air erupted with claps, and Alex pulled Axel into a hug, letting the tears roll down while Axel patted him softly on the back.

They pulled out of the hug and Axel handed the Mic to Alex.

“You might want to address the crowd.”

“Yes.”He bowed and took the mic from Axel.

He stood in front of the audience and observed for a while then proceeded.

“Over time, I have lived my life in pain and sorrow, taken by hoodlums in the street and beaten every day for no reason, I didn't know what it feels like to be born with a silver phone, I was sheltered by the sun and fed by the hands of passers, till the day he came into my life and picked me up like I was his brother, he cherished me for a reason I do not know, and I have lived since that day like his very own brother, clothing and feeding by his hands, covered by his guidance and support. Cherished in ways I have never been cherished,” The audience stayed silenced the story taking a troll on everyone.

Then he turned to Axel who was standing next to him looking all mortified.

“I own everything to you Axel, and I would rather stay submissive to you than to chase my happiness.” He bowed and dropped the mic on the mic holder.

Claps erupted from the air as they both walked away hand in hand.

Tracy smiled at the speech her hands tossing the tears away from her eye.

Axel walked closer to Hazel smiled, and pulled her into a hug.

“You did well.” Hazel pulled out of the hug flashing him a bright smile and he patted her hair.

“Because you made me.” he placed a kiss on her forehead.

Hazel chuckled for a while.

“Hi Tracy….” Axel waved pulling Tracy out of the piercing thoughts. Alex had taken the other turn when he saw her.

“Hi, Axel.” Her face stretched into a managed smile and Axel smiled his eyes following Alex, he sighed and turned back to Tracy noticing the sad expression on her face.

“How are you enjoying the party?”

“I am having it pretty…. With Hazel by my side.” she lied.

“I am glad you are enjoying the moment….I would”
