Chapter 126: Confinement and Control
Chapter 126: Confinement and Control
(Elena Blackwood’s POV)
Jane awkwardly excused herself after realizing Hugo might have overheard our conversation. Her face flushed as she quickly gathered her things.
“I should let you rest,” she mumbled, avoiding eye contact.
After she left, Hugo approached my bedside. His expression was calm but concerned.
“How are you feeling?” he asked, checking my pulse with professional precision.
“Better, thanks to you,” I replied, still feeling groggy from the drug’s lingering effects.
Hugo nodded. “I brought you here after finding you unconscious. Nathan had purchased midazolam under the pretense of severe insomnia.”
My blood ran cold. “Midazolam?”
“It’s a drug with hypnotic and sedative effects,” Hugo explained. “When ground into powder and mixed with
alcohol, it becomes even stronger.”
His jaw tightened. “I found it suspicious since Nathan wouldn’t even take moonlight herbs for a cold, let alone seek strong medication for insomnia.”
1 shuddered at how close I’d come to danger. “Thank you for saving me.”
“You don’t need to thank me,” Hugo said quietly.
I managed a weak smile. “Let me treat you to dinner tonight, at least.”
Hugo’s lips curved slightly. “You still owe me a meal from before. I’ll wait until I’m free to collect.”
By eight o’clock that evening, I returned to my suite, exhaustion weighing heavily on my shoulders. The drug’s
effects still made my head feel foggy.
I pushed open the door to my Master Suite and froze.
Marcus sat in the shadows by the window curtains. His fingers repeatedly worked over a piece of hard paper, his expression dark and unreadable.
“Why are you in my room?” I asked, my voice sharper than intended.
“I was waiting for you,” he replied without looking up. “Did anything happen today?”
Despite my exhaustion, I forced my voice to remain steady. “Nothing happened.”
Marcus suddenly threw the photograph at my feet. It landed face–up on the carpet.
My hands trembled as I picked it up. The image showed Hugo carrying my unconscious form away from the
restaurant.
“You had me followed!” I confronted him angrily. “We’re not officially severed as mates yet, but this is-”
“You don’t understand the situation,” Marcus cut me off, rising from his chair.

Before I could protest further, he grabbed my shoulders and pushed me against the wall. His mouth crashed against mine in a forceful kiss.
My shoes fell off as he pressed me higher against the wall. I had to stand on tiptoe to keep from falling.
“Stop!” I gasped between his relentless kisses.
Marcus ignored my struggles. He pulled off his tie and bound my hands with swift, practiced movements.
Then he buried his face in my neck, marking me with his scent. His voice was possessive and commanding through our mate bond.
“You can only belong to me.”
I fought against the restraints until exhaustion overtook me. My body went limp in his arms.
Marcus carried me to the bathroom, cleaning me with methodical precision. Then he wrapped me only in a blanket before calling Amber Stone.
“Remove all of Elena’s clothes and her phone,” he ordered coldly. “Starting tomorrow, she stays home and goes nowhere.”
“I need to go to work!” I protested weakly.
His golden eyes were merciless. “I can arrange for you to take leave or resign. Whatever excuse is necessary.”
(Marcus Blackwood’s POV)
For two days, Elena remained imprisoned in the Master Suite. She refused to touch any food that Amber
brought her.
My phone rang with Amber’s worried voice. “Alpha, Luna Elena hasn’t eaten in two days. She might have a
mental breakdown if this continues.”
I hung up and reviewed the restaurant’s complete surveillance footage. The manager had finally
full recording.

Nathan had booked the private room to meet Eléna. She was carried out unconscious after what appeared to be a struggle. Nathan emerged with facial injuries.
I had misunderstood the situation completely.
Elena’s words echoed in my mind: “You had me followed, don’t you understand the situation!”

Marcus returned to the suite carrying a bowl of untouched venison broth. He approached me with determined
steps.
“You need to eat,” he said, sitting beside me on the bed.
I violently pushed him away. The bowl crashed to the floor, spilling its contents across the carpet.
