Chapter 159: Marcus in Critical Danger
Chapter 159: Marcus in Critical Danger
(Elena Blackwood’s POV)
My ears rang with a deafening buzz, making it impossible to hear the surrounding voices clearly. My consciousness gradually awakened, feeling as if my entire body was suspended in mid–air with my vision completely inverted.
The car had flipped upside down. Liquid continuously leaked from the fuel tank, filling the air with a heavy, acrid odor that burned my nostrils.
When I fully regained consciousness, Marcus’s blood–covered face appeared before my eyes. Terror shot through me like ice water.
“Marcus,” I called out desperately. My ears still rang so loudly I couldn’t even hear my own voice clearly.
I reached out to shake the Alpha who was trapped motionless in the driver’s seat. Pain shot through my arm as I forced myself to move, first unbuckling my own seatbelt with trembling fingers.
After adjusting my body position in the cramped space, I patted his cheeks frantically. “Marcus, wake up, don’t fall asleep, you-”
My gaze froze completely. A large glass fragment had pierced through one side of his chest, protruding like a deadly blade.
His dark shirt had long been soaked through with blood. The metallic smell mixed with gasoline made my stomach lurch.
As the smell inside the car became increasingly unbearable, I didn’t dare think about what might happen next. The fuel leak was getting worse by the second.
I pulled off his seatbelt with shaking hands. But because the driver’s side had taken the brunt of the collision, his legs were completely trapped by the crushed seat.
No matter how hard I pulled, I couldn’t move him at all.
Gritting my teeth against the pain, I grabbed the emergency hammer and smashed the passenger window. Glass shards scattered as I manually forced open the door and crawled out of the wreckage.
At that moment, a passing vehicle stopped on the roadside. A couple got out quickly, their faces filled with concern and alarm.
The she–wolf immediately took out her phone to call for an ambulance. Her mate rushed forward to help me out of the car.
“The car is leaking fuel, get away from the vehicle quickly!” the man warned urgently, grabbing my arm.
“There’s still someone in the car, I have to save him!” I remained surprisingly calm despite the chaos, my medical training taking over.
I looked at the man desperately. “Do you have a car jack?”
“We have one in our car!” he replied without hesitation.

“Thank you!” I took the car jack from him and without a moment’s pause, returned to the overturned vehicle.
The fuel smell was getting stronger. Time was running out before this became a death trap.
I used the jack to separate the front of the car from the driver’s seat, creating just enough space to maneuver. The metal groaned and protested under the pressure.
Then I hooked my hands under Marcus’s arms and tried to drag him out while carefully avoiding any pressure on his chest cavity. The glass fragment couldn’t be disturbed or it might cause even more damage.
The couple hesitated for only two we managed to move him to

before gritting their teeth and coming forward to help. Together, hoped was a safe distance.
Just as we cleared the immediate area, the car exploded into flames behind us. The heat wave knocked us forward, and I threw myself over Marcus to shield him from flying debris.
The ambulance and pack enforcement vehicles arrived at the scene within minutes. I knelt beside Marcus
the entire time, channeling every ounce of my healing abilities into him.
But I quickly discovered that his injurin
were far too severe for my powers alone. The damage was beyond
what I could repair without proper medical equipment.
One of the medical personnel who stepped out of the ambulance recognized me immediately. “Healer…
Healer Elena?”
I had no time for pleasantries or explanations. “He has foreign objects in his chest cavity and has lost too much blood. He needs immediate emergency treatment!”
My voice was sharp with professional authority despite my emotional state.
With the enforcement vehicle leading the way, sirens wailing, the ambulance reached the hospital emergency
department in just ten minutes. Every second felt like an eternity.
Marcus was fitted with a breathing mask. Both his blood pressure and pulse readings were dangerously low,
the monitors beeping ominously.
The medical staff immediately arranged for a priority channel, heading straight to the emergency healing
bay. I ran alongside the gurney, my hand never leaving his arm,
I stood outside the emergency healing bay afterward, my mind completely unsettled. My entire body trembled uncontrollably from shock and adrenaline.
“Elena!” Director Henry Baker rushed over after hearing the news. His eyes widened when he saw my disheveled appearance. “Are you injured too?”
“Mine are just minor injuries,” I replied, my lips dry and my face pale as death. “He’s hurt much worse than me. I can’t be sure whether that piece of glass damaged his heart…”
