Chapter 162: She Hates Me, and She Should
Chapter 162: She Hates Me, and She Should
(God’s POV)
Sandy Parker’s phone buzzed with an anonymous text message that made her heart race with excitement: “Already resolved.”
She stared at the screen, her hands trembling with a mixture of relief and triumph. Regardless of whether she was real or fake, she was now the only daughter the Whitmore family had!
Her moment of victory was interrupted by a sharp knock at her bedroom door.
“Miss Parker,” a servant called through the wood. “Someone claiming to be from the Blackwood family is
waiting downstairs to see you.”
Sandy’s eyes widened with anticipation. Had Marcus finally come to acknowledge her as his childhood
savior?
She took her time getting dressed, selecting what she believed was her most impressive outfit. The white
dress paired with blue stockings, emerald earrings, pearl necklace, and gold bracelet would surely
demonstrate her refined taste.
Downstairs in the living room, Isabella Blackwood had been waiting for quite a while. Her patience was
wearing thin as she checked her watch repeatedly.
The arrogance of this supposed Whitmore family daughter was already testing her limits. But for the sake of a potential mating alliance, she forced herself to endure it.
When Sandy Parker finally appeared in the doorway, Isabella nearly choked on her tea.
The garish display before her was supposedly the refined Whitmore family daughter? The fashion disaster of clashing colors and excessive jewelry made Isabella’s eyes water.
“Are you indeed the recently found Whitmore family daughter?” Isabella asked, struggling to keep her voice
neutral.
Sandy confirmed with feigned sweetness, “Yes, that’s me. I’m Sandy Parker, now Sandy Whitmore.”
As Isabella examined her more closely, her expectations plummeted rapidly. Not only was Sandy’s appearance inferior to Elena’s natural beauty, but her outdated styling made her look older and completely unsuitable as a potential mate for Adrian.
“I’m visiting to get acquainted since we might become in–laws in the future,” Isabella said carefully.
Sandy’s face lit up with misunderstanding. She assumed Isabella was referring to a relationship with Marcus
rather than Adrian.
“Oh, how wonderful!” Sandy gushed, clasping her hands together. “Though Alpha Marcus hasn’t severed his mate bond yet, I’m sure once that she–wolf is gone…”
Isabella’s confusion deepened. “I meant Adrian, actually.”
Sandy’s expression shifted to enthusiastic delight. “Dear sister! How lovely to meet you!”
Chapter 162 She Hates M
The awkward exchange left Isabella feeling deeply troubled about this potential alliance.
Sandy then asked with poorly concealed disappointment, “Why hasn’t Marcus come to see me? I was his lifesaver from years ago, after all.”
She pouted like a spoiled child. “I thought he would visit once he learned I was found.”
Sandy lost herself in fantasies about becoming Marcus’s mate once
Elena was permanently out of the
picture.
Isabella stared at her in bewilderment, realizing this girl was completely delusional about her connection to
Marcus.
She left the Whitmore Estate feeling deeply disturbed by the entire encounter.
(Marcus Blackwood’s POV)
I awakened to find my father Alexander Blackwood sitting beside my hospital bed. The sterile smell of antiseptic filled my nostrils as consciousness returned.
My first thought was of Elena. “Is Elena alright?”
I tried to sit up, but sharp pain shot through my chest. My father’s firm hand pressed me back down onto the
pillows.
“She’s fine,” he assured me. “You need to rest.”
Victoria Blackwood entered the room, her face set in hard lines of disapproval.
“You nearly died protecting that ungrateful she–wolf,” she said bitterly. “And she hasn’t even visited you once.”
