Chapter 19: Truth Revealed
Chapter 19: Truth Revealed
The healing assistant’s face flushed red with anger as he pointed an accusing finger at me. His voice shook with righteous fury.
“Healer Elena, is this what you call Senior William’s arrangement? As a healer, you can’t even fulfill your duty
to stay at your post. Do you deserve to be a healer?”
His words cut through the rest room like silver blades. The other staff members shifted uncomfortably, their
eyes darting between me and the assistant.
Sophia stepped forward with feigned concern, her voice dripping with false sympathy. “Perhaps Elena had
some important matter that forced her to miss the healing session
She placed a gentle hand on the assistant’s arm. “We shouldn’t judge too harshly without knowing the full
situation.”
The assistant shook off her touch, his anger undiminished “No matter how important something was, it
couldn’t be more important than saving lives!”
His mentor lay unconscious on the medical bed, exhausted from working over forty–eight hours straight. The
sight only fueled his rage.
Senior William stepped forward, his chest puffed with righteous indignation “Healer Elena, I will report this
incident truthfully to Director Henry Baker and the leadership”
His eyes gleamed with satisfaction. “Your irresponsible behavior has endangered both patients and
colleagues
My clenched fists slowly relaxed as I bit my lip. A cold laugh escaped my throat, echoing through the tense
room.
“What a brilliant performance of turning the tables”
Senior William’s face darkened. “How long will you remain stubborn? Can’t you distinguish right from wrong?”
Sophia nodded in agreement, her expression perfectly crafted to show disappointment. “Elena, perhaps you
should take responsibility for your actions”
I turned to face Senior William directly. My calm gaze made him shift uncomfortably, though he dared not
look away.
“I recorded our conversation,” I said quietly. “I found the temporary position transfer suspicious and wanted to
be cautious.”
Senior William’s expression changed dramatically. The color drained from his face like water from a broken
vessel
“You’re bluffing.” Sophia interjected quickly. “How could you have been so prepared for a temporary
arrangement?”
Her voice carried a hint of panic despite her attempt to sound dismissive. This is just ar
desperate lies.”

I pulled out my phone without breaking eye contact with Senior William. His shirt was already soaked with cold sweat
Let’s listen together, shall we?”
I pressed play. The recording filled the silent room with crystal clarity
Senior William’s voice echoed from the speaker: “The emergency ward is short staffed, and you’ve been relatively free lately. Is there a problem with assigning you there to help?”
My own voice followed: “Free? In these three days, six of my scheduled healing sessions were cancelled without reason. There aren’t many senior healers in our department. With your scheduling arrangements, how can other healers get proper rest?”
The rest room fell into dead silence. Every word was captured perfectly, exposing the complete truth.
Sophia’s face turned ugly as she realized she had been outmaneuvered again. Her carefully laid trap had backfired spectacularly.
Senior William’s face became as hard and foul as a stone in a latrine. His mouth opened and closed like a
fish gasping for air.
I calmly put away my phone and looked at both of them. “I suspected Senior William’s desire to compete for
the next director position led him to curry favor with Alpha Marcus.”
My voice remained steady and controlled. “Someone asked you to deliberately make things difficult for me. didn’t they?”
Sophia frantically shook her head, her composure finally cracking. I have no relationship with Senior William!
You’re slandering mel
Her voice rose to a near shriek. “You’re trying to drag me down with your lies!”
Senior William’s shirt was completely soaked now. Sweat beaded on his forehead as he wondered if I had
overheard his conversation with Sophia in the ward.
The silence stretched between them, heavy with guilt and fear. Neither dared to speak.
I laughed at their obvious discomfort. “I guessed correctly, didn’t I?”
My voice carried a note of finality. “It doesn’t matter whether I continue working at the Central Healing
Institute.”
I looked directly at Sophia. “Even if Alpha Marcus supports you both, it’s of no consequence to me.”
Senior William’s face went from red to white. The healing assistant looked confused, finally understanding
the political undercurrents.
“My position can be filled by anyone capable, I continued. “I hope you’ll quickly find someone to replace me.”
I paused at the door, my hand on the handle. There are only two months left anyway.”
With that, I left the rest room without looking back. My footsteps echoed in the corridor as I walked away..
Senior William followed, his face burning with embarrassment. His carefully constructed plan had crumbled
in minutes.
Sophia emerged last, her eyes showing even deeper malice than before. Her hatred for me had reached a new

(Elena’s POV)
Back in my office, I tried to focus on organizing my remaining patient files. The confrontation had drained me
emotionally.
My phone buzzed with a message from Nathan Sterling. The text was brief but intriguing
At 4:30 PM, I arrived at the Advanced Healing Arts Research Institute. The building was modern and impressive, with glass walls reflecting the afternoon sun,
Nathan waited in the lobby with his usual carefree smile. “I thought you had gotten lost,” he teased.
I looked around the sophisticated facility with surprise. “This is the same institute mentioned in Sophia’s
project proposal”
Nathan’s grin widened, “Small world, isn’t it? I have shares in this place”
We walked toward the elevator as I processed this information. The coincidence seemed too convenient.
“Did you really obtain the suspects‘ confessions?” I asked.
Nathan confidently handed me a folded note. “See for yourself.”
My hands trembled slightly as I opened it. The single word written inside made me momentarily dizzy
“Blackwood.
The name stared back at me like an accusation. My vision blurred as the implications hit me.
