Chapter 8: Desire and Dominance
Chapter 8: Desire and Dominance
(Elena’s POV)
As I tried to stop him, he chuckled darkly.
“I don’t think I’ve ever wanted you in the kitchen before, he murmured, voice rough with meaning.
His words sent an involuntary shiver down my spine–reminding me of my past with Marcus.
Even though he never loved me, we still shared a bed. It wasn’t love–it was his wolf that wanted me. Logan, wild and primal, had a habit of tearing my clothes as if he couldn’t stand anything between us.
Marcus, the man, was refined–always in control. But once Logan surfaced, all that elegance vanished. His words turned crude. His touch became possessive. When Logan wanted something, especially me, he never asked.
It was always Logan who took over during s*x. And afterward, Marcus would lle beside me, silent and cold,
eyes filled with regret–as if ashamed of his own desire.
Our nights were restrained, as if he was constantly fighting something inside himself. Always in that same bed. Always behind closed doors. Always half a step away from surrendering completely.
And now, after I finally chose to leave him, he looks at me like this.
With hunger. With interest.
However, the thought of him with Sophia disgusted me. The image of them together made my stomach turn.
I
“I
“I don’t want to!” I said firmly, turning my face away from his attempted kiss.
Marcus paused, staring at me intently with his golden eyes. The intensity of his gaze made me shiver.
“Don’t want to?” His voice carried dangerous undertones.
When I confirmed with a nod, he smirked coldly. “You have no say in the matter.”
He swept me into his arms effortlessly, carrying me toward the Master Suite. My protests fell on deaf ears as
he kicked the door open,
He laid me on the bed, looming over me with predatory grace. His eyes burned with desire and dominance.
“Marcus…” I protested, pushing against his solid chest. “Aren’t you hungry? The food is almost ready!”
“This is the same thing,” he growled, his hands already working at my clothes.
My clothes were ripped apart in seconds, shredded by the raw power of the Alpha.
There was no point in resisting–his strength overwhelmed mine effortlessly.
His wolf knew every sensitive inch of my body. Wherever his fingers touched, fire followed, and my body.
trembled beneath him.
Instinctively, I tried to close my legs, but he parted them with ease–unapologetic, dominant.
A gasp escaped me as his fingers slid deep, drawing out the heat that betrayed me. He brought them to his

lips, tasting me with a low growl that made my skin flush.
I shut my eyes, trying to hold onto whatever control I had left–but a helpless, shameful sound slipped past
my lips.
Then I felt him–hard, hot, pressed firmly against my body. He was about to proceed as usual, but when he reached for protection in the drawer, he suddenly woke up and took back the control. He frowned. “Where are
they?”
Seizing the opportunity, I pushed him away and forced a smile. “You forgot, we don’t have any.”
He always used protection and kept them handy. But since Sophia and her son returned, he rarely slept with
He had forgotten whether we even had any. The realization hit both of us simultaneously.
Marcus cooled down immediately. I knew he wouldn’t touch me without protection.
He would never let me bear his heir. That privilege was reserved for someone else – someone like Sophia.
I straightened my clothes and left the room quickly. “The food is almost ready, I’ll go check on it.”
I practically fled from his presence, my heart pounding with a mixture of relief and disappointment.
That night, Marcus slept in the Shadow Wing Guest Suite. I had expected this outcome, so I accepted it
without feeling too upset.
The empty bed felt cold and vast without his presence, but I was growing accustomed to sleeping alone.
The next morning, I assumed Marcus had already left for work. I came out in my nightgown, my hair still tousled from sleep.
“Mrs. Hayes, what’s for breakfast? It smells delicious…” I stopped short, seeing Catherine Hayes wiping the
table and Marcus in the kitchen.
Catherine smiled brightly. “Alpha Marcus is making breakfast. I never expected him to be such a good cook! You’re so lucky, Luna Elena!”
I stared at Marcus’s back, my emotions in turmoil. I knew about Marcus’s cooking from Margaret Blackwood, who often compared me to Sophia.
Margaret knew about Marcus’s past with Sophia and often boasted about how much Marcus had loved her.
Marcus had learned to cook for Sophia, never for me.
But now he had suddenly made breakfast. I felt a pang of bitterness pierce my chest.
Why was he being so cold and distant all those years, only to act like this now? Was he trying to leave me
with some good memories before severing our mate bond?
“You’re up?” Marcus placed two plates of venison lasagna on the table.
He put one in front of me and sat down. “I just made something simple, sweet. I think you like it.”
Catherine pulled out my chair with obvious delight. I sat down, looking at the breakfast on the table.
I didn’t really like sweet food, but he never paid attention to my preferences. Oh well.
Thanks,” I said politely, my voice carefully neutral.

Marcus narrowed his golden eyes, watching me intently. His gaze felt like a physical weight
Catherine chimed in enthusiastically. “Alpha Marcus really dotes on you, Luna Elena!TM
My expression stiffened. Dote on me? He certainly had a strange way of showing it
Marcus ate his breakfast with refined manners. “My Luna works hard, I should be considerate”
I was speechless at his performance. Catherine looked at Marcus as if he were the perfect Alpha, completely fooled by his act
After Catherine left to clean up, only Marcus and I remained at the table. The silence stretched between us,
heavy with unspoken tensions.
I didn’t take his words to heart. He always maintained a facade of politeness in front of Catherine, the only non–Blackwood family member who knew we were mated.
This charade was to protect his image. The secrecy surrounding our bond made it easier for him to mark Sophia later, legitimizing Oliver and avoiding any accusations of Sophia being an interloper.
