Please Give Me Another Chance, Mrs. Hamilton novel Chapter 397

At this moment, Daniel's affection for Nadine was matched only by his disdain for his blind son.

He couldn't understand how Brad was so lucky to marry Nadine.

That foolish Brad didn't even appreciate her and was constantly threatening to divorce her over some insignificant matter or the other.

Daniel couldn't understand what use Brad had for his brain.

Though Daniel was nearly 60 years old, he looked great. He was fit and energetic, and while he had a few laugh lines when he smiled, it didn't take away from his charm. He exuded a mature elegance that was evident in every aspect of his demeanor.

Daniel's eyes blazed with fury as he glared at Brad. "Brad, your brain isn't a piece of decor—it's supposed to be useful. Try using it before you open your mouth!"

He feared his foolish son might make another stupid mistake. If that idiot tried to protect Jean by saying he invited her over, Daniel vowed he would deal with him severely. Daniel's gaze at Brad was laden with unspoken threats.

Brad lacked emotional intelligence. Often, his well-meaning words would come off as incredibly off-putting, making others overlook his good intentions and leaving them annoyed. Yet, he never realized this and instead thought of himself as superior, as if the world revolved around him.

However, following Daniel's reprimand, he came to a realization that Jean was lying.

After taking his medicine last night, he went straight to bed and didn't touch his phone. There was no way he could have invited her.

She had always presented herself to Brad as gentle, refined, and well-mannered. If it were revealed that she came over on her own initiative, her reputation as the third party would be sealed.

She had always been that flawless and perfect girl for Brad. She couldn't let that situation tarnish her image.

Brad didn't think much of it. He found it amusing and didn't recall saying she couldn't come to the Hamilton Estate, so he saw no reason for her to be so upset. Unlike Jean, Nadine always focused on solving problems rather than crying.

Comparing the two, his disdain for Jean grew even more.

"Jeanie, I had a heart issue last night, so it's not possible that I invited you here. Maybe you misunderstood."
