"What's wrong? Can't I enter my wife's room?" Daniel asked.
He suspected that Evelyn was hiding something from him, though he couldn't quite figure out what. After sending the maids downstairs, he slowly made his way to their bedroom. He wanted to see what she was up to.
Daniel found Evelyn hiding in the room and discretely talking on the phone. But he couldn't make out the conversation all too well. He then pushed the door open.
Seeing Evelyn's pale and frightened face, Daniel became even more convinced that she was concealing something.
Evelyn regained her composure and hurriedly stuffed her phone back into her pocket. "Why are you acting so distant, Daniel? This is our room, so of course you can come in whenever you want."
She then acted coquettishly, adding, "But next time, you'd better let me know beforehand. That way, I can wear the clothes you'd like to see me in."
Daniel was nearly 60, while Evelyn was 14 years younger than him. In her mid-40s, she was well-maintained. She had delicate skin and looked like a woman in her late 20s at most, full of charm.
At her age, she was in her prime and hoped Daniel would be more active at night. However, Daniel was indifferent and had little desire in that regard.
Since they got married, Daniel had rarely been intimate with Evelyn. After giving birth to Gigi, their intimacy diminished even further. Once a month was already considered a frequent enough occurrence.
For someone like Evelyn, who was still very passionate, this was far from enough. If she wasn't satisfied at home, she naturally sought it elsewhere.
At the Hamilton Group building, Brad had just arrived at the office when he received Adam's call.
Before he could even say "hello", Adam began to berate him. "Brad Hamilton, you worthless son of a bitch! Everyone on the Internet is criticizing your wife. Have you lost your mind or something?
"If you've really lost it, just announce it to the world so your wife isn't dragged down. I'll find her a better young man!"
Adam continued his barrage. "What the hell are you doing? You won't agree to a divorce, yet you won't treat her well? Pick a side, you little shit!
"Listen up, you bastard. If you dare divorce Nad, I'll make sure you leave with nothing. Go beg on the streets with that good-for-nothing Jean!"
