Nadine never thought she'd run into Brad in Chillnada. If she had known he would be here, she wouldn't have come, no matter what. After seeing that jerk, her day was ruined. All she could feel was anger and a desire to escape.
Even though she left a few minutes earlier, Brad still managed to catch up to her. He seized her arm from behind, pulling her roughly into his embrace.
For the past few days, all he could think about was Nadine. Jean hadn't even crossed his mind once. Heaven knew just how much he missed Nadine and how deeply he yearned for her body.
However, he could tell that she didn't want to see him at all. Her eyes and the arch of her brows were filled with nothing but disdain.
It was the same look he used to give her. Back then, he was gravely ill. His heart was barely able to keep him alive, and death could claim him at any moment.
In order not to hold Nadine back, he, who had always prided himself on keeping his promises, chose to go back on his word. He called off their verbal engagement and asked her to treat it like a dream and forget it ever happened.
He made it crystal clear that he wanted nothing to do with her. Yet, she had somehow managed to convince his father and grandfather to let her marry into their family.
Later on, his heart transplant was a success, giving him a new lease on life. Hence, everything was buried under the joy of his recovery.
Having given up on him entirely, she couldn't even be bothered to argue with him. She was merely stating the facts. Her eyes were devoid of emotion, and when she looked at Brad, it was as if she was looking at a stranger.
Brad was stung by the cold detachment in her eyes. A sharp pain shot through his chest, piercing his heart. Even though he wasn't physically injured, the pain was so intense that it made it difficult for him to breathe.
He raised his hand and pressed it to his chest, where the pain lingered. It took a while for the pain to subside.
With a tight grip on Nadine's hands, he parted his lips and said, "Don't worry. I'm not going anywhere, so you better start thinking about how to please me instead of wasting your time on this nonsense! I'm warning you, if you have any more contact with Sebastian, you'll regret it!"
