While Nadine and Sean were in Chillnada, Sebastian had taken great care of them, and she had always wondered how she could repay his kindness.
Initially, she wanted to send him some local specialties from Janctera City, but she quickly dismissed the idea, feeling it was too insignificant. After all, Sebastian was from a wealthy family and would likely see it as cheap and negligible.
Nadine didn't want to appear stingy. Now that they were face-to-face again, she knew this was her chance to repay him.
Sebastian shook Nadine's hand briefly before letting it go. "Your presence is absolutely radiant, Ms. Scott. If I hadn't known better, I'd have thought you were a heiress of a prominent family. That said, you look lovely in that uniform. Pink is definitely your color."
The pair started showering each other with praise.
After taking in his compliment, she couldn't help but chuckle self-deprecatingly. "You're just saying that. I'm too old for such a youthful color."
She used to love pink, but after learning that it was Jean's favorite color, she gradually stopped liking it. Sebastian had struck a nerve when he complimented her, so she could only poke fun at herself to make herself feel better.
Sebastian noticed her gaze drop and took another closer look at her. From a psychological standpoint, her expression suggested she liked pink. Yet, for some reason, she couldn't like that color, and it became a thorn in her heart.
Before Tyler resigned, Adam had called and asked him about how much time he had left. Tyler told him that if he could find a suitable heart transplant and recover after the surgery, he could live for another three years. If not, he'd be lucky to have another three months.
Instead of getting upset at Tyler's response, Adam felt relieved. Being in his 80s, he wasn't worried about how much time he had left. What mattered most was getting everything ready for Nadine and Sean, so they would be happy, safe, and loved after he was gone.
After observing them for a while, it was obvious that Sebastian was the best fit. However, the Caldwell family had some reservations about Nadine having been married before.
Still, the fact that Sebastian came to Janctera City showed that his family was supportive. The Caldwells had to be on board as well. Otherwise, Sebastian wouldn't have made the trip.
