Please Give Me Another Chance, Mrs. Hamilton novel Chapter 654

Brad didn't anticipate that when Evelyn showed up again, she would have Jean in tow.

Daniel sneered and rolled his eyes at Brad. "I told you that it was you who angered Nadine. Otherwise, she wouldn't have ignored you so openly."

Nadine had been Daniel's daughter-in-law for six years, and he knew her personality inside out. Even a cat would fight back when pushed too far, let alone someone as determined as Nadine.

Daniel raised his hand and slapped Brad on his uninjured left arm. "You really outdid yourself, didn't you? Bringing Jean in front of Nadine. Hey, if Nadine brought her ex-boyfriend before you, and they were being lovey-dovey, hugging one another, how would you feel?"

Brad was rendered speechless. Just thinking about it was bad enough for him, let alone seeing it with his own eyes.

When Sebastian was with Nadine, there wasn't much physical contact between them. They were just friends, nothing more. But Brad couldn't even accept that, forget seeing them hugging in front of him.

For a moment, he felt a lump in his throat.

The scenes from that day flashed through his mind, and realization dawned on him. It happened so fast that he couldn't fully understand it.

"Dad, I want to ask you something." Brad always had doubts in the back of his mind. However, he never brought it up for various reasons.

Presently, it was just Daniel and him in the ward. The thought came to him, and he couldn't help but begin, "Is Mom—"

After Brad found out that Jean tried to harm Nadine and Sean, he had locked her at the Hamilton manor. All things considered, he didn't expect her to be so capable. She managed to get out in just a few days.

Brad looked visibly upset, his gaze cold. He glared at Jean fiercely, as if he wanted to tear her apart. That look of his sent chills down Jean's spine.

"Brad, I was worried when I heard that you were injured, so I begged Mrs. Hamilton to let me see you. I didn't do anything wrong. Aunt Jessie was the one who did it—not me. Don't pin the blame on me!"

Jean was certain that Brad didn't have any solid evidence against her. If he did, she wouldn't simply be locked away in the Hamilton manor. She would have been sent to prison instead.

Since Brad didn't have solid evidence, she still had a chance to defend herself. "Brad, don't listen to Aunt Jessie. She deliberately slandered me because I didn't save Harry. Everything she said was a lie."
