Please Give Me Another Chance, Mrs. Hamilton novel Chapter 673

Brad wasn't happy about Jean being at his family dinner. If he hadn't been so focused on Nadine, he would have seriously considered having his bodyguards throw Jean out.

This was a woman who had lied to him over and over again without the slightest hint of guilt. How could he possibly have any feelings left for her?

Even though she had been diligently taking care of him at the hospital, being as docile and unobtrusive as possible, he had no feelings for the woman he had once liked. All he wanted was for her to stay far, far away from him. Ideally, he didn't want to see her again in this lifetime.

Brad didn't let her near him, though Jean was almost always at the hospital. He wouldn't even let her into his ward. Brad had assumed that as long as he was cold toward her, she would take the hint and back off.

But for some reason, Jean kept invading his personal space, acting like she was the one who'd been wronged. It only made him more irritable, and he became sharp-tongued. The look in his eyes was full of disdain.

When he saw Nadine walking hand-in-hand with Sean, he couldn't even be bothered to pretend anymore. He immediately distanced himself from Jean and followed them, walking slowly behind.

After hearing Brad's harsh words, Jean wasn't upset. In fact, she shamelessly trailed behind the family of three, smiling brightly.

"Don't be mad at me, Brad. I'm just concerned about your health. I mean no harm. Your injuries haven't healed yet, and the doctor said you should avoid smoking and drinking. You shouldn't be reckless with your body."

The more gentle and considerate she tried to act, the more Brad's patience wore thin. He stopped in his tracks and turned around, glaring at her menacingly.

Unperturbed, Nadine led Sean to the playroom and breathed a sigh of relief when she was sure Brad hadn't followed them. To ensure the two of them wouldn't be bothered, she closed the door to the room behind her.

Meanwhile, Jean was getting on Brad's last nerve. He was practically seething, wearing a scowl and speaking harshly. Yet, she didn't seem to mind. In fact, she plastered a smile on her face and tried to be as soft as a cotton ball, never raising her voice or losing her temper.

"Calm down, Brad. Getting all worked up isn't good for your health. If you don't want me here, I can leave. There's no need to get the bodyguards involved. Trust me, I just want to check on you. As long as you're okay, I don't care what happens to me."

Even though her words sounded sincere, her hands were constantly moving. She'd either be pulling at her hair or spraying perfume in random directions, and she kept inching closer to Brad, deliberately closing the distance between them.
