Such an incident had actually happened in Clover Villa on New Year's Eve.

As the head of the Hamilton family, Daniel couldn't swallow his anger. He wished Jean would make an even bigger fool of herself after all she'd done. However, this matter was linked to his family's reputation. For the sake of his family, he couldn't let Jean continue disgracing them any further.

While Jean was humiliating herself, his family's reputation was on the line, too. Hence, there was no way he'd let her leave without clearing things up. Since she'd created this mess, she needed to explain herself and face the consequences of her actions.

After standing in Jean's way, he called over a few of his bodyguards. "Escort Ms. Sawyer to the guest room. Get someone to help her change into appropriate clothes, and then bring her back to me. I have a few questions for her."

A line of bodyguards stepped forward and escorted Jean into the guest room like a prisoner. Gigi wanted to speak up for Jean and get the bodyguards to leave, but to no avail. She could only accompany Jean into the room to help her change.

"What did you do to make my dad so upset, Jean? He's usually such a patient person. I've never seen him this mad." While she had her suspicions, she wanted to hear Jean's account since she hadn't witnessed it herself.

Tears cascaded down Jean's cheeks like a string of pearls that had snapped. Yet, she only sobbed and didn't respond.

After all that planning, she was so close to success. Where did it all go wrong? Why was it that even though Brad was out of it and couldn't see clearly, he still headed straight for that bitch, Nadine? What was so special about her?

Gigi watched as she cried and couldn't bring herself to press Jean for answers. With a sigh, she pulled her out of the blanket and said, "You need to get dressed, Jean. No matter what, you can't go out like this."

This was about his family's century-long reputation, and he couldn't just let it go. Without a word, Daniel raised his hand and slapped Evelyn hard across the face.

"Look at what you've done! After all your effort to keep that woman around, not only has she embarrassed herself, but she tarnished our family's reputation too! If it weren't for you, she wouldn't have had the chance to do this!"

Daniel and Evelyn had been married for almost 30 years, and they always treated each other with respect. Even though they had their share of disagreements and arguments in the past, he had always kept in mind how well she treated Brad as if he were her own child.

Not to mention, she had given him a daughter and was always attentive to his needs and well-being. With everything they had been through together, he had always been kind to Evelyn.
