Nadine didn't want Sean to be influenced by the woman's foul language. So, she quickly covered Sean's ear.
Without holding back, Nadine retorted, "How much garbage do you have in your brain to spout such filthy words? Do you brush your teeth with toilet water every day? Otherwise, how can your mouth be so dirty?
"Next time, make sure to be careful before spewing filth everywhere. You're getting it all over everyone else."
The woman was speechless as her face twisted in fury. Ignoring the presence of her child, she charged at Nadine, raising a hand to grab her hair as she screamed, "You little bitch! I'll tear your mouth apart."
While pulling at Nadine's hair, the woman prepared to slap her across the face. But Nadine wasn't just about to stand there and just take it. She mimicked the woman's actions and grabbed a fistful of hair in return.
Both of them had long hair, and their grips were unrelenting. Neither of them had a chance to break free. And so, they started brawling.
The small room outside the nurse's office was a complete mess. Everything above ground level was knocked to the floor. Broken shards from vases were scattered everywhere.
The nurse could no longer tolerate the chaos and called the police.
Ten minutes later, Nadine and Sean were escorted into a police car and taken to the nearest police station.
The woman's husband soon arrived, helping her into the luxury car and driving them to the police station.
In the car, the woman adjusted her now-disheveled hair while fuming. "I'll make sure that little bitch doesn't get away with this. I want both her and her son in jail. No! Jail time isn't enough. I want to ruin them online too."
Upon reaching this point, Brad furrowed his brows. How much did Nadine love Jack to the extent of wanting to follow him in death? Other than "lovesick", Brad couldn't think of any other explanation.
Thus, the further Brad read into the information, the more alarmed he became. His heart sank, descending further and further until it felt as if it had hit rock bottom.
If Jack hadn't died back then and had lived on, would Nadine still have been so determined to marry Brad? What did she really want by marrying him? Was it because he had a face nearly identical to Jack's?
Did Nadine only see Brad as Jack's substitute?
As this thought crossed Brad's mind, a sharp pain shot up from the depths of his heart.
