Please Give Me Another Chance, Mrs. Hamilton novel Chapter 815

As soon as Brad's lips left Nadine's, her lips throbbed with pain. Her swollen lower lip, in particular, stung sharply, as though it had been bitten hard enough to break skin.

What the hell was this man thinking? Did he think she was some kind of pushover? Her eyes, brimming with tears, locked onto his towering figure, frustration and disbelief written all over her face.

Who did he think he was? They were divorced, and they'd agreed to stay out of each other's lives. So, why the hell did he barge back in and force himself on her?

Her body trembled with rage as she dwelled on that train of thought. Without a second thought, she raised her hand and slapped him across his chiseled face.

"Brad Hamilton, you son of a bitch,. You're so shameless! I'm your ex-wife! How many times do I need to remind you that we're divorced?

"For the love of God, get a grip! Use that brain of yours—assuming it hasn't been completely trampled by a mule—and think for a second! We're done. There's nothing left between us!"

When she received the divorce certificate, she had returned every single property Brad had given her. She didn't want anything from him, nor did she want anything to do with him. She just wanted a clean break.

Nadine thought that after the divorce, knowing Brad's cold and aloof personality, he would keep his distance and they'd never see each other again. But, as it turned out, she couldn't have been more wrong.

After the divorce, he not only made a habit of showing up uninvited but also played the role of a devoted father and attended Sean's kindergarten event, going above and beyond in ways that made it seem like their divorce had never happened.

If he'd acted like this before the divorce—if he'd shown even a fraction of his current effort—she might've been touched, thinking he cared about her. But now, she couldn't care less about anything he did.

Still, his gaze remained dark and unreadable. He then took a large step forward, closing the distance between them.

Panic gripped her, as she had no idea what he was up to. Her heart pounded against her chest as she was afraid he might kiss her again.

Instinctively, she backed away until the cool, unyielding surface of the wall pressed against her back. Then, she realized she had nowhere left to go.

Her eyes were wide with fear as she stared at Brad. Through gritted teeth, she warned, "Don't come any closer! If you do, I'll call the cops!"

To prove her point, she grabbed her phone, her trembling fingers hovering over the emergency dial screen. Her threat wasn't empty—she was fully prepared to dial 911.
