Evelyn charged at Daniel with all the fury she could muster, but her plan fell apart almost instantly. Before she could even get close to him, his bodyguards pinned her to the floor, face down.
Evelyn, who had never been humiliated like this in her life, thrashed and screamed. "Daniel Hamilton, you fucking scumbag! I curse you to never see the woman you love, not even in death! Even after you die, you won't be buried with her, and she'll avoid you like the plague in the afterlife!"
Her insults were venomous and relentless, yet she couldn't break free from the guards who held her down. Daniel listened to her curses with a stoic expression, as if he hadn't heard a word she said. Lucas, on the other hand, shuddered at the sharp edge of Evelyn's curses.
Ignoring Evelyn, Daniel's gaze landed on Lucas. "Well, what are you going to do?"
Lucas pondered for a moment before nodding. "Alright. I'll slap her 30 times, but you need to let my bodyguards bring me a fresh set of clothes first!"
His clothes were on the floor, trampled beyond recognition by the reporters who had rushed in. There was no way he could wear them now.
After hearing his request, Daniel called for his bodyguard. "Get Mr. Castillo a new set of clothes."
It didn't take long for the bodyguard to return with a fresh set of clothes. He respectfully placed them in front of Lucas. "Here you go, Mr. Castillo."
Daniel left a few bodyguards to keep an eye on Lucas and then dismissed the reporters. If everything could be resolved today, he had no intention of escalating the situation. After all, no man wanted the world to know he'd been cheated on.
Daniel didn't stop him, motioning for his bodyguards to step aside. "Of course."
Upon hearing that he was free to go, Lucas' face lit up with a smile. "Thank you for sparing me, Mr. Hamilton. If we meet again, I'll make sure to return the favor!" He then left with his injured bodyguards.
After Lucas and his men left, the Hamilton family's bodyguards filed out as well, leaving Daniel and Evelyn alone in the room. Daniel glanced at Evelyn, who lay motionless on the ground. Her swollen, reddened face was a pitiful sight, but he didn't feel for her one bit.
"So this is the man you chose? How pathetic," he sneered. Without another word, he turned and left, leaving Evelyn alone on the floor. Her face was completely numb, the pain so intense she could hardly feel it anymore. She couldn't even bring herself to shed a tear.
