The chatter from the crowd no longer reached Nadine's ears. She was already seated inside Brad's private jet, heading back to Janctera City for the sake of her beloved son, Sean.
As she left the venue, she hadn't even bothered to bid farewell to Sebastian.
The plane ascended into the sky, leaving Pittsbrew behind. Brad glanced at Nadine and Sean sitting together, and a faint smile tugged at his lips.
Sebastian wanted to be with Nadine? There was no way Brad would let that happen.
Meanwhile, Sebastian stood in the now-empty hotel lobby, seething with frustration. He clenched his fists and vowed that Brad would never have Nadine. Sebastian would never let go of her.
…
Back at Hamilton Estate, Gigi had been unusually well-behaved lately. Apart from the occasional visits to the company, she mostly stayed at home.
She had already confessed to Daniel about letting Evelyn out of the basement. Since it had been done under his watch, he wasn't angry with her.
Still, Gigi wasn't content. She knew everything about Evelyn's affair with Lucas.
As the matriarch of the Hamiltons, Evelyn had betrayed Daniel. She even used the family's wealth to support Lucas and fund his company. It was beyond anything Gigi could accept. Frankly, she despised Evelyn's actions.
If Evelyn no longer loved Daniel, she could've just divorced him and pursued Lucas openly. Had that been the case, Gigi wouldn't have said a word.
For some time now, Daniel had been searching for Evelyn's whereabouts. Ever since she stabbed Lucas and disappeared, it was as if she had vanished into thin air.
If Evelyn reappeared and caused trouble, it would only worsen the Hamiltons' predicament. They couldn't afford to let their guard down.
But her complete disappearance was even more concerning. They had no idea what her intentions were or who her target might be. It felt like crossing a river blindfolded.
Daniel finally looked up from the mountain of paperwork before him. He adjusted his reading glasses as he studied his grown-up daughter, Gigi. She bore a striking resemblance to Evelyn, especially her mouth and nose.
Daniel stared at Gigi for a long moment before saying, "I'm just afraid she might not care about you at all anymore."
