Greg was in his private suite with Sandy, tangled up in the heat of the moment, when someone started banging on the door. The knock was frantic, with a voice shouting that there was trouble downstairs.
Greg was livid. He wanted nothing more than to wring the messenger’s neck for interrupting him, but then came the kicker. The guy said it was urgent. Mark had a gun to his head.
That changed everything. Greg had to deal with it, no matter how much he didn’t want to.
For Sandy, who always felt like she was living through a nightmare whenever she was with Greg, this was the best news she’d heard in ages. Every time she ended up in bed with him, she wished she could just disappear. Still, someone coming in and causing such a huge scene, even holding Mark at gunpoint, was unheard of. Mark wasn’t someone people messed with.
Sandy quickly fixed her clothes. Greg draped an arm around her, her legs still shaky, and they headed downstairs together.
She never expected the person causing all this chaos would be Lydia.
As soon as Sandy saw Lydia with a gun pressed to Mark’s head, her stomach dropped. Guilt hit her hard. Lydia was supposed to be in Country T looking for Luke. How did she end up here? Did she find something out?
Sandy instantly regretted coming down with Greg. Sure, Greg was powerful, but that didn’t mean she wanted people to know she was his sugar baby. Especially not Lydia. But there was no running now. Lydia had already spotted her.
Lydia looked genuinely surprised to see Sandy in Greg’s arms. But after that first shock, everything clicked into place. So that’s why Greg had suddenly targeted Luke. It wasn’t random at all. Sandy was behind everything.
It wasn’t some stranger after Luke’s kidney. Sandy wanted Luke dead!
“Sandy?” Lydia’s voice was ice-cold. She practically spat the name out.
If Luke ever found out his own sister was the one plotting against him, the one who got him killed, he’d be crushed. He had already given up everything for Sandy, and she still wouldn’t let him go.
Sandy shrank behind Greg, terrified by Lydia’s glare.
Lydia’s lips twisted in a mocking smile. “Getting cozy with this old man... Doesn’t that make you sick?”
