She strolled over, calm as ever, and set her foot right on his chest, pressing down hard.

Jimmy’s courage vanished. If he held out any longer, he’d be ruined. He hadn’t even had kids yet. “Okay, okay, I’ll talk! It was Parker! He sent us. He told us to grab you and bring you to him.”

Lydia’s eyes narrowed, just a hint of a smirk on her lips.

Of course it was Parker. He failed to get his son out today, and gotnowhere with her mom. She’s wondering why he hadn’t even gone to the office. He must have spent the whole day figuring out how to deal with her instead.
