Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 294

Everyone trailed after Cameron and Kylie, trying to get a better look at the year’s biggest star. Heads craned, voices hushed, and all eyes locked onto the luxurious dining room where she sat.

In the center of all that extravagance, a young girl sat quietly in her chair. She leaned back, her posture straight and graceful, like she belonged in a painting. Her neck was long and elegant, her dark hair falling over her shoulders, catching the soft light and shining like silk. She wore a simple white dress, the skirt swaying gently by her knees, almost like a rose opening. Her fingers rested lightly on the table, and she gave off this cool, untouchable vibe, like she was in total control.

When the noise from the doorway broke the silence, she turned her head slowly. For a moment, everyone in the room just stared, wide-eyed and breathless.

This was the perfect scorer? The legendary prodigy?

She was almost too pretty to be real. Absolutely stunning. She looked like an angel that somehow ended up in the middle of all this, her features impossibly delicate. But her eyes were something else entirely—clear as glass, dark and unreadable, sharp and a little wild. No one could meet her gaze for long, afraid they’d get lost or swallowed up entirely.

She definitely seemed a bit intimidating. Not exactly the type you’d just walk up to and start a conversation with. But that didn’t matter. She was the one every school wanted, and nobody was going to miss their shot.

Cameron told the staff to bring out tea and snacks, but honestly, none of them cared about that right now. They crowded around, each one eager to pitch their school.

“Lydia, we’re from Capital College,” one of them started, all smiles and enthusiasm. “We’d love to have you join us. Our president said if you come to Capital, we’ll give you your own dorm, a private chef for all your meals, and you can set your own class schedule. Every lab is yours, anytime you want.”

Lydia’s cool expression softened just a little. Grandpa Carson really knew how to tempt her.

Another recruiter jumped in, determined not to be outdone. “Lydia, we’re from Oakwood College. If you pick us, we’ll get you the best lab equipment, whatever you’re interested in. We’ll do whatever it takes. You’ll have total freedom, no restrictions at all. As long as you’re happy, that’s what matters.”
