Ready to Rule: The Real Heiress Strikes Back novel Chapter 547

“You’re too kind. Lydia’s the real chess master here,” Connor said, smiling.

Mr. Norwood looked at Lydia, clearly impressed. “Lydia, who taught you to play like that?”

Lydia just shrugged. “Mostly taught myself.”

Mr. Norwood nodded, genuinely admiring her. “Lydia, you’re incredible.”

Connor couldn’t help but agree. Lydia was like a hidden gem, talented at everything she tried. He wondered if there was anything she couldn’t do. Honestly, if there was, it must be something nobody else could manage either.

After lunch, Connor headed out to the office. He’d been out of commission for a while and his work had piled up.

Lydia realized she hadn’t been by Greenward Power since she got back. With the fall collection about to drop, she figured it was time to check in and see how the team was doing.

The front desk at Greenward Power was manned by Joy, their new receptionist. She had never met Lydia before. When Lydia walked in from outside, Joy couldn’t help but stare. It felt like watching a movie star step straight out of the screen—no, even better than a movie star. Lydia was beautiful, cool, and had this magnetic energy about her.

Before Joy could find her voice, two security guards called out respectfully, “Good afternoon, Ms. Norwood.”

Lydia nodded at them and headed for the elevators. As she passed the front desk, she noticed Joy still frozen in place and said, “Hey, snap out of it. Time to get to work.”

By the time Joy shook herself out of her daze, Lydia had already disappeared. Joy just stood there, stunned. Oh my god, was that really their president, Ms. Norwood? She was seriously so cool.

Joy remembered hearing that Ms. Norwood was actually Miss L, the founder of LYLX. Wait, did that mean she’d just met the legendary Miss L in person? And Miss L had actually spoken to her? Was she dreaming?
