Elliot looked totally baffled. “Mom, LYLX is a huge international brand. All of this is new, limited-edition stuff. I went through so much trouble to snag it.” He paused, glancing over at Lydia. “You don’t like this brand?”
If that was true, he was seriously in trouble. He’d picked out tons of LYLX bags, shoes, custom dresses, and jewelry. Most of it had even been designed by Miss L herself.
Lydia smiled and nodded. “I like it.”
Elliot finally relaxed, a hint of relief on his face as he turned to Kylie. “See, Mom? She likes it.”
Kylie let out a sigh, half amused, half helpless. “Didn’t Blake tell you? Your sister is Miss L. She’s the founder of LYLX. Everything you just gave her, she designed herself.”
Elliot stared at her, completely stunned. His sister was the founder of LYLX? How had he never heard that before? Why had no one mentioned it?
“Lydia, your brother’s completely clueless. He’ll get you something else tomorrow.”
Elliot was at a loss. “Mom, these are really nice. He doesn’t have to get me anything else,” Lydia said with a laugh.
Kylie shook her head. “No way. He has to try again tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow, I’ll definitely bring new gifts,” Elliot added, nodding seriously.
Just then, Lucinda came running out, her heart full of excitement. But the scene she walked into made her pause. It felt like she was looking at her old self. Back then, whenever her brothers came home, all the presents were for her. Now, it was Lydia getting all that attention.
“Elliot, you’re back,” Lucinda called out, quickly putting on a cheerful face as she hurried over.
Elliot spotted her and, just like always, reached over to ruffle her hair. “Lucinda, come see what I brought you this time.”
