Lucinda was caught in her own words, and the embarrassment hit her hard. She forced a smile and tried to play it off. “I was just joking, Elliot. Don’t take me too seriously. You’re the only celebrity I care about anyway. I don’t know any of the others, so their autographs wouldn’t mean anything to me.”

To be honest, Lucinda had always looked down on most celebrities. In her eyes, they were just performers, entertainment for the wealthy. Elliot, though, was different. Elliot caught her drift and went along with it, a teasing smile on his lips. “I know I’m your favorite. That’s why I got you something better.” He pulled out a small stack of tickets. “VIP seats for my tour. Front row. Bring a couple of your friends.”

Lucinda lit up instantly. She’d meant to ask him for tickets anyway. Her friends had been begging her for days, but VIPs were impossible to get, no matter how much money you had.

“Here you go, keep them safe.” Elliot handed her three tickets.

Lucinda took them, still grinning, but then she counted and her smile faded just a little. Usually, Elliot would give her at least five. This time, only three? Did he give the rest to Lydia? She couldn’t ask with everyone watching, so she just kept smiling and thanked him. “Thanks, Elliot.”

The family was all smiles, and Mr. Norwood looked proud. “Nicely done, Elliot. It’s good to treat both your sisters the same.”

Elliot grinned. “Just trying to keep everyone happy.”

Kylie suddenly exclaimed, “Elliot, you didn’t tell us you were coming back! I would have invited Connor over for dinner too.”
