So what if I lost? What does it have to do with you? Maybe take a look at your own situation for once. Nobody even wants to be on your team. Maybe you should figure out why that is before you come for me."

"Quiet," Jay cut in, his voice sharp. Instantly, everyone clammed up. He glanced at the four leftover groups. "There are nine of you left. You can make two teams. If you move fast, you can get a five-person team together."

The message was clear. If you weren’t quick, you’d be stuck with a team of four.

Monica tugged at Fiona’s sleeve. "Hey, Fiona, what about Jules? He’s really good at shooting, right? Why not try and get him on our team?"

Fiona shot Monica a look. "Why don’t you ask him?"

Monica grinned. "You’re prettier. He’ll listen to you."

Fiona stared at her, speechless.

Monica nudged her again. "Come on, if we get someone strong, our chances are way better."

Fiona felt like she was being dragged into this, but she took a breath and called out, "Um, Jules? Would you want to join our team?"
