Lydia turned to them with a small smile. "Come on in. Take a look around, make yourselves at home."
Stepping inside, they were greeted by a wide, open hall. The floor was polished white marble, gleaming like glass under the soft lights. Right in the center stood a huge metal sculpture, its shape almost alien, like some unknown creature or maybe a cluster of cells from a microscope. It gave the whole space this cool, futuristic vibe.
Off to one side of the villa was the medical research wing. A hallway stretched out, lined with labs on either side. Each door had its own electronic lock and a scanner for ID. Inside, the labs were packed with cutting-edge equipment. Electron microscopes, culture chambers that could mimic the human body, all sorts of high-tech gadgets filled the space. The control panels and screens glowed with shifting numbers and colors, like the villa itself was alive.
The other side of the villa was all about living in comfort. The bedrooms were simple but elegant, with soft beds and warm lighting that felt inviting and safe. It was such a contrast to the clinical, high-tech lab area. Even here, though, the place was full of smart features. The climate control system adjusted the temperature and humidity by tracking your sleep. A voice assistant played calming music whenever you needed to relax.
On the top floor, a massive terrace stretched out, perfect for taking in the view. From here, you could see the city’s landmarks, just a few hundred meters away. But what caught everyone’s eye was the huge telescope set up out there, hinting that Lydia wasn’t just about medical research. She had her sights set on the stars, too.
After seeing everything, Luke and Connor were both left speechless.
Now it made sense why the first thing Lydia did after visiting Connor’s villa was to beef up its security. Her own place was packed with next-level tech at every turn.
Luke just stood there, at a loss for words. He was realizing, maybe for the first time, that his sister was even more impressive than he’d ever imagined. She’d just always kept it under wraps. She was so low-key, even their parents had no clue how amazing she really was. But then again, maybe it was because their parents had never truly cared or paid her real attention.

Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
