Sandy thought she’d covered her tracks, played it smart. So how did Lydia manage to find her, and with such confidence?
“You… Don’t you dare try to pin this on me! I swear it wasn’t me!”
Lydia just tilted her head, her voice cool. “Wasn’t you? I’ve got the whole thing on video. You buying the SIM cards, tossing them later. Want to see for yourself?”
Sandy’s eyes went wide, pure shock on her face. “Lydia… You… You were following me?”
Lydia let out a short laugh. “Please. You really think you’re that important?”
All at once, Sandy dropped to her knees in front of Lydia, hitting the floor hard. She was crying now, voice shaking as she pleaded, “I don’t know why you’re saying all this, but I swear, it wasn’t me.”
Lydia just frowned.
That’s when Silvia’s voice came from behind. “Lydia, Sandy, what’s going on here?”
Sandy started crying louder, practically gasping. “I didn’t do anything, I promise!”
Silvia walked over, her face stormy as she glared at Lydia. “Lydia, you know Sandy just had kidney surgery. She couldn’t even join the training. Why are you picking on her?”
The truth was, Silvia already had a bad impression of Lydia, mostly because of what happened with Daisy’s transfer. Daisy could have brought so many good things to the class, but Lydia drove her away. As the counselor, Silvia couldn’t help but resent that. In her mind, everything Lydia had done for the class, Daisy could have done better, and Lydia had closed off opportunities just for her own pride.
Now, seeing Lydia act like a bully, Silvia was completely fed up.
“If you want to know what’s really going on, maybe you should ask Sandy about the shady things she’s been up to,” Lydia said, her voice just as cold.
