Luke had started treating Connor as brother-in-law like it was the most natural thing in the world, and honestly, Connor seemed to love it. It just felt right.
Juna dragged over a chair and sat down to watch Lydia get her makeup done. The whole group was hanging out, laughing and chatting, completely unaware that the makeup artist was so nervous she looked like she might pass out.
Usually, Lorelei had her own personal stylist, but since she was just performing as a guest tonight, there was no need to fly her stylist in from overseas. Leo had found someone local with a great reputation to do Lydia’s look. At first, the makeup artist had no clue Lydia was actually Lorelei. It wasn’t until Katie pulled up photos of Lydia’s past styles on her phone that the artist realized who was sitting in her chair. She was stunned, absolutely speechless. She never imagined she’d have the chance to do makeup for the most mysterious superstar in music.
And then the surprises just kept coming. She was still trying to wrap her head around it all. Lorelei wasn’t just Elliot’s little sister, she was also Connor Jefferson’s fiancée and the famous pianist, Melody Mastro. How could one person be so talented, so young? It honestly felt like the universe was just handing her everything on a silver platter.
Meanwhile, Kylie, Lucinda, and the others had arrived at the concert venue. Kylie really wanted to go backstage to see Lydia and Elliot, but she was worried she’d get in the way. Lucinda was just as curious, eager to know what Lydia was up to and hoping she wouldn’t embarrass herself in front of everyone.
Everyone found their seats according to their ticket numbers. Lucinda made sure to sit between Kylie and Cameron, so nobody would wonder why she wasn’t next to Connor. With Lydia not sitting in the audience, there was also no risk of anyone catching her and Connor together.
Blake ended up next to Cameron, with Garrett seated beside Kylie.
After a few minutes, a girl in a white dress appeared at Blake’s side, ticket in hand. She looked a little awkward, standing there like she couldn’t decide if she should come over or not.
Blake noticed someone looking at him and turned to see who it was. He froze for a second.
Jenny gave him a nervous smile. “Mr. Norwood. What a coincidence seeing you here.”
She instantly regretted not swapping her ticket with someone else. Now she felt so on edge. Was Lydia being too nice? Why was her seat right next to Blake?
Blake glanced at her anxious face, then down at her ticket. “Is this your seat?”

Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
