Yara scrunched her brows, trying to make sense of it all. Was it possible that Lydia was the one staying late in the special lab every night? The thought alone made Yara shake her head and force the idea out of her mind.
No way.
It just didn’t add up. Lydia was a freshman, and while she did score a perfect mark on the entrance exam, she had no background in medicine. Even if she picked up a few things along the way, there was no way she could measure up to Daisy, who grew up in a family of medical legends. Daisy was already part of the International Medical Association, and her skills ran deep.
Lydia? She wouldn’t stand a chance.
Yara was already looking forward to tomorrow, to seeing Daisy finally put Lydia in her place. Maybe then, she’d feel a little better about everything.
Meanwhile, Lydia and Garrett filled Kevin, Richard, and the others in on everything that went down at the border. The room went quiet as everyone took it in, a shiver of fear settling over them.
Thank goodness Lydia got there when she did. Things could be so terrible otherwise.
“That’s just vile. We have to get to the bottom of this. We can’t let them off the hook,” Kevin said, voice steady and serious. As a senior member of the International Medical Association, he had real pull. If they could get the evidence that these people were making viruses, they’d be able to bring them to justice.
“The police are already on it. Those people will probably keep their heads down for a while.”
“They got lucky this time,” someone else muttered.
Now that the antidote was done and the crisis at the border was over, Garrett, Richard, and the others didn’t really have a reason to stick around campus. Still, the idea of leaving Lydia behind made them hesitate. They couldn’t think of a good excuse to stay, so they ended up asking Kevin and Lydia, half-joking and half-hopeful, “Kevin, Lydia, if we run into any other problems, can we come back to the university and ask you guys for help?”
To be honest, the two of them were scary-good at medicine. Just having Miracle Hands on their side was like having an unbeatable secret weapon.

Every chapter is missing a sentence from the end of every chapter. It’s frustrating to try guess what’s missing or said...
